Okay, so I brought my PS3 home with me for Christmas break. At school I've got a 27" HDTV so I use an HDMI cable, but we only have SDTVs at home so I just brought the composite cables that came with it. Except, now I've got it home, and I've tried to hook it up to the TV, and there isn't any picture or sound. The screen flickers for a second when I turn it on, but after that it's just a black screen. I've tried it on three inputs across two TVs an I get the same thing every time.

Anyone have any idea what I can do to fix this? More importantly, I didn't somehow damage my PS3 in transit, did I? I can deal with no PS3 for a month, but I would rather prefer if I did not ruin it!

While it's off, hold down the Power button for, I think five seconds? Should reset the output. You'll hear it beep again.

It just sounds like you'll have to reset the video settings. It's still set to the HDMI settings, so that's why you're getting a black screen. Do what Woodroez said, although someone else mentioned you should have the video/audio cables unplugged while you shut it down. Then plug everything back in and restart it and it should be golden.

Sounds about right Dashui. We had to deal with this at my apartment while my roomies didn't have an hdtv.

If that doesn't fix it.... then you've got a problem.

I... wow. That was a lot simpler than I was thinking. Thanks.
