Not your usual recommendation thread! I'm looking for some speakers which are going to be used in an experiment we're running in a few months, really the only requirements are to have a large volume displaced by the cone of the speaker, so a large diameter and displacement distance are required (I believe this distance is usually called x-max). I've found a few 18" speakers with an x-max of 8mm but I've heard of ones which go up to 20mm. Does anyone have a clue where I could find some with an x-max of 20mm or thereabouts, preferably around 15 to 20" (or larger) in diameter too?
You might try speakercity, and I think Parts-Express also ships internationally, but I don't think they have drivers with the specs you're asking for.
Since you're looking for a very specific application (optimization of Vas and Xmax) and fidelity does not appear to be necessary, you might look at making your own drivers. Drivers that advertise meeting the kind of specs you're looking for can be very expensive as they're often only used in commercial applications.
I second the idea of building your own speakers. It'll be a lot cheaper, and you can build exactly what you want.

Madisound does ship internationally.
I don't believe it - I'm on my THIRD PS3, and my FIRST XBOX360. What the heck?
