Help with videos not working from latest version of PSP Video 9

I'll just repost what I posted on their forums the other day which hasn't gotten any replies.
I had a much older version of PSP Video 9 for my old PSP and it worked perfectly, I loved it. Anyway I upgraded to a PSP 3001 and decided to update my PSPv9 software because I want to convert a few videos for a trip.
Every single video I have converted does not work. I have spent several hours fiddling with all the settings and no differences are made. I have tried putting the video files into the old video folder, the new one, and nothing. I have converted AVI files and when I look at them on my PSP crossbar the PSP tells me they are an unrecognized file.
I had a couple of MP4 files that were not recognized before I converted them so I tried converting them to see if that would help, and they would work for a few seconds and then the videoplayer on my PSP would crash saying video cannot be played.
Before I updated this program worked beautifully for me, now that I've downloaded the latest version not a single video has worked for me.
Update: I have tried to convert a third kind of video file (wmv) and an entirely new error cropped up for me. Actually no error was displayed, but after converting the file it spat something out that was 0kb and didn't play even in the preview window.
Little bit of pertinent info:
-I have the latest version of PSP video 9
-I have a PSP-3001 with the latest firmware
-My OS is Windows Vista 32bit with SP1
-The last version of the program I used that worked was I believe 1.74, or something along those lines.
Any ideas? I'm going to be traveling out of the country in a couple of weeks and I'd like to convert a few episodes of TV shows for the near 20 hours of travel each way. As always the help is appreciated.

You could try a different program: XviD4PSP. It has worked great for me.
Yeah far be it for people to download software updates.. =P
But thanks for the suggestion, I'll check it out in the future.
