Edit a PDF File - How To

I recieved some PDF files via E-Mail for a Job, and I'd like to type in the text. I'm using Adobe 9, but I can't type anything in stinkin sections.

Any advice on how I can do this; a program or something.

Have you tried with Adobe Writer?

In any case, you could just print the document, use a typewriter or just complete the form in handwriting and finally fax or scan the final document.

The PDF has to be designed to allow for filling in spaces. If it's just flat text, there's nothing you can do. It should be pretty clear which it is - if clicking on a space doesn't do anything, it's flat text and you'll have to print it out and type/write everything on it.

I haven't tried adobe writer, good idea. My brain is frazzled at the moment.

I don't have a typewriter. I want to use the computer because my hand writing is comparable to a doctors.

Well wait, do you have actual Acrobat Pro or just plain Acrobat (which they've dropped the Reader tag from)?

Adobe illustrator will generally be able to edit a PDF, but it costs about a billion dollars (or at least, probably more than you'd want to spend).

If you have the full version, you can edit in the text boxes by hand and type in your information. Otherwise, scan it in and overlay text boxes in a graphics program.

There is Adobe Reader (still is reader), Adobe Acrobat Standard, Adobe Acrobat Pro, and Adobe Acrobat Pro Extended. All of these outside Adobe Reader will allow you to edit a PDF assuming you have those fonts available.
