So, in celebration for a promotion that will require a lot of travel, my wife bought me a hpm1000 netbook, which is pretty sweet, but does not appear to have bluetooth off the bat. However there is a bluetooth icon on the taskbar, which when right clicked on says "bluetooth device not found" then when I right click on the hp wireless assistant, it says bluetooth is disabled. When I go to the my bluetooth places on my computer, it says bluetooth device is not connected or not on. But when I go to Device Manager, under bluetooth devices I have "Bluetooth Bus Enumerator" which seems to be working fine.
Is something broken or disabled, or do I just not actually have a bluetooth device on this computer? The paper and computer manuals for the computer are absolutely useless on this specific computer, as it seems to address issues for all hp's.
N00b question I know, thanks for the reply.

Bluetooth is optional on that model, so while it may have software/icons that refer to bluetooth, it may just be a default chassis/setup and that particular model may not have it. I would refer to your order summary to see if it's listed.

Have you tried going into bios and seeing if it is turned on there? That's what fixed it for me.
