Sony Playstation 3 Bluetooth Headset Problems

Hi everyone. I'm having some trouble with a recently-purchase Sony Bluetooth Headset for the PS3.

This is the new official Sony headset (the one that comes with SOCOM, though this one I purchased standalone). When I am wearing the headset, it seems to pick up every bit of background noise going on in my room. It will even catch the shuffling that occurs from sitting up and sitting down. I have turned the Microphone Level down to 1 in accessories, but this doesn't seem to help at all. On the box it explains that the dual-microphone design allows the outer microphone to pick up noise and cancel it out of the transmission, but in my experience this headset transmits more noise than would be expected from a standard bluetooth headset. Any advice or recounts of similar problems would be greatly appreciated.

Are you positive you have your mic sensitivity all the way down? A buddy of mine got this mic and has had no problems with it at all.

Yes, absolutely positive that the input level is down to 1.

A friend has a similar problem. We get crazy echo whenever he uses his bluetooth headset. His solution was to use the bluetooth as the speaker and use the Playstation Eye as the microphone.
