WoW Friend Trials

So i traded in some 360 games today, didn't have anything to buy, put 207 dollars into WoW, it's patching now.

My question is this, i've played the trial, it was free and didn't need any codes to trial. Now i've gotten like 6 "Let your friend trial WoW" cards, with activation keys, are those worthless or are they somehow magically better than the seemingly identical normal trial?

Just wondering whether i should throw them out, or if someone could use them.

I think you get 30 free days if one of your "friends" upgrades to a paid account.

But there is the "Recruit A Friend" program which should be accessible from account management. That can also generate trial keys, but those also give you some in-game benefits: http://us.blizzard.com/support/article.xml?articleId=20588

I'd keep the trials if you plan on speaking to any of your friends anytime soon >_>

Those trial cards are pretty much just like the trial you probably played. Very limited with what you can do in it. I think you can get to level 20, but you're not allowed to use the public chat channels, the mail system, or trade with anyone. The cards are not associated with your account in any way, so you won't get 30 days free if someone subscribes after playing a trial.

It's a separate thing from the Recruit-A-Friend program.

Definitely use recruit-a-friend if you want to try to get friends to play. If you can get one to play with you, or you haven't activated your account yet, it's worth linking to a friend's account because you'll get triple xp when you play with them for like 90 days, plus other really awesome things like being able to summon each other anywhere in the world once an hour. I did this with my at-the-time-not-yet-husband, and it was awesome.

pretty reasonable total if you're buying the original, the expansions, and some game cards

$80 for a Battle chest and WotLK leaves about $120 for time cards, or 8 months of play. You must really have loved the trial! :D

Could also have bought a few decks of the card game to try for one of the cooler loot cards. I can see buying one or two of the big boxes if you really wanted a spectral tiger or nether-rocket.
