My wife is the main designer, although I help here and there (mostly with the actual spreadsheet maintenance to tell her what areas need what).

As for the paths, you can take any pattern you create and lay it on the ground. So I took a screenshot of AC, tweaked it in Photoshop until it looked the same as the texture in the game, then used that AC texture tool to help me put in the texture pixel by pixel. Then I just went around and laid down the path one tile at a time.

Took a while, but the results are worth it (and it helps us both stay on paths to minimize the grass wear).

Yea, my gf felt the same way when we saw your town, it's amazing compared to our humdrum place lol. Thanks again for letting us sell our turnips MB! Also thanks for helping us get the other types of fruit. :D

I was too afraid to run around your town for fear of messing it up, but is there a way to lock the tiles on the ground so others can't pick them up?

Just picked up this game for Christmas! And Nook is preparing to upgrade the store already. Probably a good thing that I'll be out of town all day tomorrow anyway. I lucked out that Nook was ready on day one to sell me a shovel, fishing rod, and net. The axe and the slingshot can wait- for some reason I have yet to spot any balloons floating around.

Unlike the DS version, it's not easy to spot a balloon floating by. Pretty much the only way I know one is floating around is by hearing the *whoosh* of the wind, then I look up to find it.

Also, don't forget to post your info on the wiki and welcome to Animal Crossing :)

I added my info to the Wiki, though I won't be around again until Sunday to let anyone by (and I just started, so there's nothing much to see).

And when I started up the game to get the friend code, what should I run into besides a floating present on a balloon? And me with no slingshot.

My girl and I just got this yesterday. We're not sure what kinda stuff you can do in others' towns, but she keeps bugging me to find people to visit and to come visit us. So...how do we go about doing that? Is there a list of codes around here somewhere so we can go visit some of you guys?

Also, what's the deal with the turnips, as that seems to be the main reason people visit other towns?

So does anyone have any extra Jingle furniture? I chased him around all day on the 24th and am still missing the Jingle Shelf and Jingle Sofa. My wife has the sofa but won't give it up D:
I guess it's a little premature to ask, as I won't be able to open my gates until tomorrow when I get home (staying at the parentals for the holidays and I generally can't find more than 10 minutes to play AC if I'm lucky).

Well, we sold this morning in our town because our turnips were at 213 (we started playing at 11:53, so it didn't seem worth it to post about it), and we figured that was our spike (we had been in the 50's until yesterday).

Just checked (1:30 pm), and they're at 472.

There aren't enough expletives in the world at this point.

If anybody has turnips left, though, we've opened our gates to visitors.

Nooooooooooooooooooooooooooo! Why did I have to leave the house yesterday?!

Note to all: turnips dropped here but they're still 184, so if anyone still needs to get rid of turnips, let me know and we can open the gates.

You know what? I'll probably take it. My Nook will roll over to noon in about five minutes, and if it continues to be crappy (39 this morning...) I'll take the 184.

    EDIT: 34. Gods damnit.

so how long is it until I get a silver fishing rod. I have a Nook and Go but does he need to upgrade further.

will a silver fishing rod keep stuff like popeyed goldfish and tuna on the line longer?

and any chance somebody has a spare silver rod? :/

EDIT: And speaking of money, this is the last call for Jingle stuff: 12,500 a piece (Hey, man, I had to farm HARD for all that stuff) or I'm tossing it to Nook. Check page 4 or thereabouts for my inventory.

Not yet, but I'm about to correct that.

I only need NINE Fossils to complete that wing of the museum:

    Parasaur SKull
    T. Rex Tail & Torso (dunno why I can't dig up T.Rex parts...)
    Styraco Tail
    Iguanadon Skull
    Ptera Left Wing
    Shark Tooth
    Trilobite
    Dinosaur Track

If anyone has one or more of these, check the wiki to see if I have what you need (and if you need a dimetrodon torso, I'll throw that in for free, since I have five of the fucking things).

Also, I have the entire Harvest Set, but I don't like how it looks so I'm trading/selling it to you guys, or to Nook.

Oh damn, it seems that Nook's got a throne for sale in my town, and since I'm a platinum member now, I only need to pay 640,000 bells, which I don't have (anymore.... turnip market crash).

If anyone wants the throne for that price, come over, gimme the money, I'll buy it and give it to you. Your smile (and the addition of the throne in my catalog) will be enough satisfaction. :P

Over Christmas, with no wi-fi and no turnips, we had a 380 bell price. Sigh.

I had assumed you would all have traded your Jingle stuff as required by the time I got back to Wi-Fi and liquidated all my spares for fat cash. Seriously fat cash, Nook loves him some Jingle furniture apparently.

HRA score has of course now leapt through the roof with a room filled with a full set like that.

Got my new bridge today. The locations offered suck serious balls. I was hoping for a nice path over to my otherwise slightly isolated Nooks, but got offered two spots right next to existing bridges and the one I took down on the coast. :(

The general consensus for this seems to be it's not much of an upgrade to the DS version. Although I'm jealous to hear of people trading crappy furniture. So is it worth it for someone who enjoyed the cube and DS version quite a bit?

As long as you're happy that it's a polished variation rather then the next generation of Animal Crossing. You say you've played the previous versions so the only person who can answer if you want to play more AC is you!

    Questions!

Do pine trees only grow in the Northern half of town or something? I've been watching them wither for weeks before the spark of memory that this might have been the case in WW. If so, that has screwed my plans for fruit up north and normal trees down south. I guess I'll have to have a northern pine line to mirror the coastal coconut fringe.

Does Brewster still have stories to tell this time like in WW? I've got his
gyroid storage service (fantastic addition to the game)
but he has yet to get more chatty.
