unidentified song?

I have this mp3 on my computer. It's a song, but I can't for the life of me figure out where I got it from, who it is by, or even what the lyrics are (the lyrics are audible, but there's no real lyric page for it).

I uploaded it, because it's a good song, but I know nothing about it. I've tried scanning the track, googling lyrics, and I get nothing.

    Tried to tag it with Shazam in my iPhone, and Shazam has no idea what it is. It must be from an alternate dimension or something.

    that's the thing. i'd like to think that it is perhaps an independent artist or something, but it sounds sort of well made.

    Sounds independent to me. Certainly not bad at all, but there are various little things that make me think it wasn't recorded in a professional studio.

    It's pretty amazing what can be made at home nowadays.
