Excuse my nerdy indulgence, but I was wondering. Is there a table of sorts where you can look up the GTA name of something and it gives you the real world counterpart? If there isn't, anyone want to help make one using Google Docs or something?
I've always got a kick out of how Rockstar names things. The fact they take such a level of detail to rename everything in the game I find delightful. It was originally done to keep real-world companies from suing Rockstar for Trademark and Trade dress infringement, but as the game grew, the creativity of simply naming everything almost like the real thing has become a work of art in itself.
If no one can find such a list, I'll make a make a Google Doc spreadsheet, make it public, and if you want to help, start filling in the blanks.
== EDIT ==
Better yet, wouldn't it be interesting to make Firefox addon/Greasemonkey script that automatically substituted names on websites to the GTA names?
Hmm, this is trickier than I thought. I have to come up with a scheme that organizes everything on a tree-like fashion. State -> City -> District -> (?). I could lump them in all together, but I lose clearance on what I'm naming.

This is isn't a comprehensive lookup table, but if you're gonna make a spreadsheet it should help. Just click on the borough to see a list of landmarks.
I'd help more but even I think this is too nerdy a venture.
