Brave and the Bold should be a decent title. Batman and someone else every month? I'll take it.

Steel reunited with his big fuck-you hammer and armor again? Awesome! Brave and the Bold? I dig anthology titles like you wouldn't believe, so I've got such high hopes for this. I do hope that they cycle in some C-listers from time to time though. And I'm less than enthusiastic about Perez. His art just bores me. Jeff Smith doing Captain Marvel's cool as the bottom of a pillow, but I almost prefer Smith's work in black and white. I'll also be waiting on the trade for it, since four issues at 5.99 per is pretty goddamned steep, prestige format or not. Zauriel getting some of the spotlight again will hopefully be really cool. I've got kind of a softspot for the character. Oh, and Miss Martian, when you're on a team that is regularly menaced by Dr. Light, you should probably have a longer skirt. But then, you can probably fill your vagina with razorsharp teeth or something, so maybe not.

I don't know, I think James Jean is probably my all time favorite cover artist. Or the dude who did those really awesome propaganda styled covers for 198. But JG Jones gets some credit for pumping the 52 covers out on a weekly basis, though I don't know what kind of lead-in time he had.

You know, looking at that Teen Titans cover I think Match and Wondergirl decided to be as boring as possible. It was like they looked around and decided everyone else had already chosen the cool poses, so they just decided to do the generic flying Superman pose and charge each other.

Im psyked about the Brave and the Bold. IM only getting it for however many issues Hal Jordan is in it. Which might just be one. I was wondering when they'd solicit it.

The cover to Action looks really cool. Not so big on what Kubert will probably do with interiors though.

[Artist's Corner]Hal's Green is far too fluorescent. With a little less saturation on Hal, the image would be a lot better overall. Also, the lighting is terribly wrong. How is the light coming out of Hal's ring lighting Batman's left leg or far side of his foot? It's just impossible. The saturated sky isn't doing the image any favors, either. Batman and Hal are supposed to be the main focus, but the powerful sky gradient is competing for the viewer's attention because it's all so saturated.

Also, there are some nasty Jpeg artifacts around the stars that just look terrible. Plus... those fluorescent green signatures? They look like glow-in-the-dark silly string.

The coloring is very amateur, and it's killing the otherwise nice lines.[/Artist's Corner]

That 52 cover is actually kind of boring. Not bad, but I think the worst of the bunch so far.

How long has Jeff Smiths Marvel mini been in production, because I have that exact same image on one of my school binders, and it's been there for over a year.

I'm actually really pumped for Mike Baron's issue of JLU. I just read two of the Nexus Archives hardcovers, and that dude can write. But Tom Fowler's doing some of the interior art, which fills me with dread. I'm also upset by no sign of any Blue Beetle shenanigans in Manhunter. I demand shenanigans.
