Identity theft?

My mom's gotten 2 things in the mail addressed to her. One was a Netflix dvd, the other was from York photo labs. My family has never signed up for Netflix or heard of York photo, so we called them up.

Netflix guy said that someone with a gmail (she doesn't use gmail) account signed up online using a Master Card. I told him the last 4 digits of my mom's card, and he said they didn't match. He couldn't give me the name on the card or the email.

York Photo said that someone also put the order online using a master card. She wasn't really clear but from what we understood, the card was under my mom's name.

We've tried getting her credit reports done online, but they can't verify her information. The alternative is waiting weeks to do it by mail. No one is available when we call because of the holidays. I'm waiting for her to get home so we can file a report with the police.

Call the credit bureaus and put a freeze on credit.

Not sure what else you can do besides put a fraud alert up.
