I’m selling off a big mix of Warhammer 40,000 stuff and trying to figure out what to charge if I just sell the whole thing as one big lot on eBay. It’s all painted and assembled, (in mixed paint schemes), and some of the models are banged up or have bits broken off. Is %50 of retail cost too much?
We have a warhammer thread in CF that might be able to help you out. The problem with big, painted lots is that in general, you get a lot less hits since fewer people will be buying a whole army at a time, whereas breaking the models down into appropriate units and selling it at that size is much more likely to get results.
I recently sold 3-4 armies worth of old models, this is what I found:
Selling by squad/unit nets you a larger end gross, and especially if you're okay with the process taking a bit of time you'll be happier with the end result. Generally asking 45-50% retail Buy It Now with a 30-35% bidding option will allow for the most end results.
If you want to sell by lot I'd suggest using a "Buy It Now or Best Offer" option. Put it up there for whatever you believe is fair and take any offer that comes your way and doesn't take you for a fool. This is the "easy" means as you can unload everything at once for a lump sum. Be prepared to accept as low as 30-40% or so if you go this route.

But come by CF first, you'll likely find someone interested in something that you've got.
