OK, another SRW without UC Gundam and Getter. Interesting,
No SEED Astray?
Astray is awesome.
Virtual-on? That's neat.
Also, I thought Zoids couldn't get in SRWs because Zoids was owned by a company competing with Namco Bandai?
No UC I'm fine with, even though I'm a pretty big UC fanboy, it's had plenty of SRW screentime.
But I'm still waiting for some of the other Getters to get their time in the spotlight. Shin Getter Armageddon has only been in D so far, and Heien has yet to be used at all.
As for Astray, it's the primary reason I still play through W every so often, I'm still dying to see Destiny Astray though, with that awesome mirage colloid virus mobile suit.
It surprises me that they stick with such an old game engine. The DS might not be as powerful as the PSP, but I imagine it could handle, say, the Alpha engine. Maybe the J/W one is just easier for them to program, is all I can figure.

Actually, you'd be surprised.
W is pretty visually impressive, and makes Alpha look pretty archaic by comparison.

You mean Alpha 1, right?
Personally, I'm just amused the DS is getting new SRW games while PSP has had nothing but ports, one of which was originally a GBA game.

Yeah, although I daresay some of the W animations could give at least@2 a run for its money.
W was really well done, especially the fluid movements of the originals and stuff done specifically for W and not re-used. (GaoGaoGar in particular)

This is true. Some of the really high end attacks from W were amazingly well done. The game just needed voice acting!
Edit: Mission 39.
FUCK YOU ALPHA GAIDEN. FUCK YOU. OH MY GOD. There's a mountain cycle at the far ass end of the map. Isamu ran past enemy lines to get it. What did I get?

Oh, I'm not saying it's ugly, from what I've seen it's quite nice. I'm just surprised they stick with an engine from the GBA, when the DS has the horsepower for more.

Yep, Alpha 1(and I assume @G also uses that engine).
And yeah, the PSP gets the short end of the stick, game-wise. Poor thing :P

I await the day that Atlus teams up with Banpresto to make a SRW International and I can bash in Galvatron's Face with Megas XLR whilst third impact is happening.
And then you can have Able Squad make a daring assault on Dolza's fleet with back-up from the Iron Giant.

I'm fine with UC not appearing, but honestly SEED has been in every SRW game since Alpha 3. It could use a break too.
I'd personally like to see a game without UC or CE and instead focuses on X, Turn A, or Wing as the main Gundam. Or if they're going to use UC then use F91, Crossbone and Victory. And CE has Astray.

I love me some F91 and Crossbone (and Astray, as previously noted) but I prefer to ignore Victory ever happened.
Now 08th MS Team showing up a bit more often, that I could get behind.

Alpha Gaiden is almost that. UC is in it, but most of the game is X and Turn A.
That's a good point. They're both thematicaly quite similar.

00 should be some damn useful stuff.
Setsuna: Melee monster with a special ability that lets him ignore barriers.
Lockon: Most accurate sniper in the game. He'll put Heavyarms and Weissritter to shame. Also has Haro as a copilot.
Allelujah: The new Zeta. Hallelujah will awaken at 130 morale and higher.
Tieria: Remember Gundam X's map attack? Wing Zero's? The HTB? You get the idea. Also, a tank. Deploys Nadleeh when destroyed after the episode it debuts in. Nadleeh itself is very agile and is at least a better option than a Core Fighter. Has a special PLOT MODE attack when connected to VEDA.
All of them, especially Tieria, will have something akin to an AT field or beam coating/I-fields. It'll be awesome.
) if you meet the right requirements and get enough skill points.

Getting
MR BUSHIDO
would be akin to getting the Shishio Blade in the form of its own mech.
Now that I think about it, all 00 Gundams should have EN Regen (S). GN Drives have limitless energy, but can only churn out so much at a time. TRANS-AM shouldn't be something that you achieve at 130 morale, either. It has a very specific time limit and keeping it on for more than three turns (Since each round is apparently a whole minute) is kind of silly.
Maybe it's a special mechanic that you can activate once a mission once you hit 130 morale and last three turns. All your attacks have 0 EN costs and your stats are dramatically increased as well as enabling specific attacks. Downside is, the Gundams are weakened and at 0 EN for at least a couple turns after the time limit runs out.
Or, it's just restricted to flavor attacks, but switching in and out of TRANS-AM when using and not using those moves would be a bit silly, too.
I mean, it was kind of funny. In W Astray got all these awesome animations and Dynamic Kills, while SEED I think it got just one. I was surprised when I finally got it.
Also, apparently there's some kind of "Partner system" could we be seeing squads in it? I kinda hope squads become standard for SRWs now, that way you can use more characters.
Admitedly, I kinda wish it was Chaotic Century or New Century Zoids, but as long we finally get to pilot a Liger and ruin some mech's shit with it, I'm a happy boy.

Mission 39.
Fuck you very much, nukes. Why can't you be as flimsy as Original Generation's nukes? Freakin' one getting away.
Posts
From what I can tell from the crappy pictures of a magazine page, the text boxes are the same as W

I imagine 00 will just begin replacing Gundam W, which has also been in damn near everything.

GUYS
SPIRIT COMMANDS FOR THE GUNDAM 00 CHARACTERS
NOW
I'll start:
Setsuna: Accel, Focus, Strike, Valor, Zeal, Courage
Lockon: Snipe, Strike, Fury, Assail, Valor, Bonds
Haro (Lockon's copilot): Scan, Alert, Gain, Cheer, Attune, Love

For the most part, yes.
But if it's any consolation, you can only recruit the most awesome character in the game on Hard mode.
The-O ain't bad though. I gave it to Gavan Gooney. The VF-11 went straight into Max's expert hands.
I mean, it was kind of funny. In W Astray got all these awesome animations and Dynamic Kills, while SEED I think it got just one. I was surprised when I finally got it.
I want to take the Archangel, with Kira on it, and slam it down Prozen's damned throat.

I've never seen Zoids.
All I know is that it was one of those series that were listed as "Never going to happen." in a Super Robot Wars game.
The fact that it's appearing now means circumstances have changed.

Nice, I've been looking for an excuse to play that one again.
Never did end up getting the Vorlent/Luftkranz.
It is ever-so-slightly long. I'd have trouble with three playthroughs in a year, but this might just be able to fix that...

I totally spoiled myself by playing through with Granteed first.
Coustwell and Belzellute just feel crippled next to it.
