Well, maybe Hasbro could get someone to do it? At some point while reading the TF wiki I was given to understand that licensing in the US is separate from Japan, to the point where they were licensing toys from Takara's competitors for the US line.

Okay, here's what I'm thinking of. Copied and pasted just because the TF wiki is great:
Though it chafes the magnificent Sky Lynx to share an origin with the ungainly (if powerful) Omega Supreme, both were originally created by a company known as Toy Box, from whom Hasbro licensed the designs for sale as Transformers. As with Jetfire and the Deluxe Insecticons, this meant it could not be sold as a Transformers toy in Japan, since Takara didn't want to promote its competition's toys. Thus, Japan was unable to experience Sky Lynx's full grandeur—but such glory could not be denied forever! Sure enough, when Takara merged with former competitor Tomy, the situation changed. After the merger, an especially perspicacious member of the TF development team spotted a "shuttle dinosaur" development code name among the molds listed in Tomy's possession. Soon, the truth of Sky Lynx's esteemed lineage emerged: Toy Box was not the original equipment manufacturer, but rather, it had requested that Tomy develop the Sky Lynx design on its behalf. (Such outsourced design and mold development was not uncommon in the Japanese toy market at the time.) This unsung hero of a developer called attention to the fact, helping initiate the process for issuing Sky Lynx as a Japanese Transformers toy for the first time ever. Had the situation moved a bit more slowly, the molds might have been lost forever—a tragedy of such magnitude, it scarcely bears consideration.

Besides, a Japanese TF game might be all moon language or underage cartoon panty shots. But Hasbro probably wouldn't touch it, since it wouldn't sell toys other than a handful of special edition toys.

SRW K is definitely the bee's knees.

It's in a difficulty sweet spot between W and A where it's not ass-fuckingly hard but perfectly easy to lose if you get too careless.

How exactly does the combo system in K work?

There's an Attack Combo skill you need to get before you can do it.

First the character you want to use the Attack Combo has to be alone, no partner at all. Then you can use a weapon with the C tag to hit both members of a squad. As your combo skill goes up you can start hitting multiple squads.

How exactly does the combo system in K work?

Combo 1 allows you to hit all both partner enemies, Combo 2 allows you to target multiple different enemies like you see Revlius do in the first stage. In both cases, you need to be in a solo unit to use them. (You can't have a partner)

Edit: Beat'd by a wide margin, that's what I get for not noticing there was another page.

I've always wanted to tried the SRW series, but never really knew where to start. That and the US ones that they come out with aren't as interesting to me because I don't play with real gundams. I wanna kill people with Sandrock! D:

Alpha Gaiden is a bit more difficult than the newer SRWs, but it has been translated, making it a fine choice for a starting SRW. It also has Sandrock. :P

Despite the fact that it is also in English, I would heavily suggest staying far away from SRW3. It is a fun game, but it is extremely archaic and barely even resembles the SRW of today.

The Akurasu SRW Wiki is a great place to go for things like menu translations, part and skill names, etc. that should help you play pretty much any of the newer SRWs without much difficulty.

Also, here are some really nice sites for SRW J and SRW W that ought to make playing either of those a great deal easier.

The Sandrock sucks though. It only has one real attack that despite the awesome animation costs too much to upgrade for its potential return.

If you like Gundams I'd recommend SRW Alpha Gaiden. It has Gundams from original, Zeta, Double Zeta, Char's Counterattack (and the Hi-Nu Gundam from the novelization if you get enough Skill Points to stay on hard mode), Victory, 0083, Wing, Turn-A, and X.

And they all pale in comparisson to Fokker's Super VF-1S and Max and Miriya's Super VF-1Js. YF-19 sees a lot of action too. As well as Enil's Jenice Kai.

V2 Buster Assault Gundam is the best of the real types (when I did the Turn-X encounter where Usso goes beserk if the Turn-X didn't have HP Regen I could've just let the V2 BA Gundam solo it), followed by a Double X Gundam with everything unlocked for it (Tifa as extra pilot with G-Bits and G-Falcon).

I reserved this game, didn't realize it was coming out so fast. I was a little worried...but the video I found of ridiculous combo attacks with lots of yelling and art sliding in from the side calmed me down a bit. So this game doesn't have any licensed mech in it? And...they only call out the (human sized) mechs for some special attacks? Could still be worth it, but I'm not sure...

All the voices are stuck in Japanese still, or is there an option to switch between the two?

A little too fleshy to qualify, I think. I just didn't quite realize how different this is from the main set of games. I was hoping I'd get to play as Domon or Gainer...

The licensed SRWs are never coming out here, get used to it. Too many distributing companies own the rights to different mecha franchises in the US and all of 'em are starving for cash. The royalties involved outweigh the cult following of the series.

OG Saga and its Namco characters getting here is mostly due to the fact that, for once, the licensed characters are all from one company.

So I've been playing the game all day. It's pretty good. The world/dungeon map is hilariously bad, which is actually sort of endearing. Tapping buttons and trying to combo all my attacks properly is actually a lot of fun. Only two real problems, though.

I'd like to know what the hell they're saying during battle. A little floating bit of text would be nice, even something on the lower screen. Besides the frequent use of Engrish, and the few words I recognize from other series with screamed attacks, I have no clue what they're talking about in the battles, which is so far 80% of the game. Is there a translation of all their quotes somewhere? Some fan site?

Is there a way to skip to the next person on the list without guarding and wasting the turn of someone faster? Sometimes I want to use a healing spell first, and not have to stop in the middle of a combo to switch to them.

You posted while I was typing, cj!

I've still got enough SRW in my backlog that I felt comfortable holding off (Still need to finish a couple routes of @3, OGG, K...)

I am torn, though, between not being terribly interested in it and wanting to support English SRW, even if it's not really a SRW game in the strictest sense.

I'm not all that fond of 'proper' SRW, since OG2 is evil incarnate(and the story makes almost no sense, they just drone on and on and on). This is much more my speed so far.

I love the tongue-in-cheek humor it has going.

But really, I bought it for Namco X Capcom love first, SRT stuff second.

Honestly, I'm saving up for Devil Survivor instead. It just seems like a much more interesting game than this IMO. They choose this over OGS and OGG?
