Can't open Photoshop on my new Macbook.

I just transferred all my programs and documents from my old Powerbook onto my brand new Macbook, and whenever I try to open Photoshop, I'm given the error "An unexpected and unrecoverable problem has occurred because of a program error." and it shuts itself down. Is there any way I can fix this or is it fucked?

you have to reinstall photoshop, you can't simply copy it across. You may be able to do so by copying the app plus anything else it puts in the library, but reinstalling is easier.

if you used the 'transfer my old mac stuff to my new one via a firewire cable', you don't have to reinstall. you do need to de-authorize it on the old computer, and re authorize it on the new one. i do beleive its under the 'help' menu? i'm not in front of a mac right now.

if its still not starting, dump your preferences. On a Mac press and hold <Option><Command><Shift> while starting PS up, and click through dialog windows that come up.

Repair your permissions if you haven't done it yet.
