The Guiding Principles and New Rules document is now in effect.
I heard Ion was the most boring book ever. Issue one sure as hell was.
It got much better.
Issue six was pretty much the end of the "who am I what does it all mean what is going on here" motif that plagues all new titles with new / revamped heroes. With issue seven and beyond, Kyle has excepted / learned who he is now and is moving on..doing the Ion thing.
He made a giant knight on horseback construct!

Guy Gardner is clearly the greatest Green Lantern to ever live.
The Green Lantern books were always great for me because I love all the semi-obscure, weird characters. Like, I have no interest in Hal's GL book, but I'm loving GL Corps because it's got Mogo and Salaak in it, and I keep waiting for Stel and Green Man to appear. Some of my favorite GL stuff were those weird little stories with various side characters that Alan Moore wrote.
I think Timm and Co. once pitched a GLC show, but it never went anywhere. And you know, you may think I'm crazy for this, but that show on Toon Disney, Buzz Lightyear of Star Command, has a strangely similar feel to what I imagine a GLC show would be like.

Sometimes you need to give it an issue or two to get to the good stuff.

Sadly with my comic budget being so small (I've got to pay for those video gaes & hookers somehow), I can only give a book a couple of issues to get good before drop it & try something new. Maybe I'll grab Ion in trade form. Kyle is my favourite GL, so I guess I owe it to the guy.

Hey hey..this is a family forum. Keep your video gaes out of it.
Back on topic - what was with that latest issue? I started reading GL when Kyle got the ring. Is the whole "Hal doesn't wear a ring when he's in a plane" soemthing that has been mentioned before, or was that cooked up for this new story? It's fucking retarded either way.
Yeah he has never wore his ring when flying (except for when he does).
Because what are the odds he'd be attacked while flying... oh yeah, about 100 fucking percent...
Honestly, his refusal to wear a ring while flying should be considered criminally negligent considering how many planes he's crashed.

Not wearing the ring while piloting is part of his "no fear" thing. If he wears it, he's saying something bad could happen. And then he won't be able to affect yellow
I thought it was because he couldn't be an effective test pilot knowing that if anything went wrong he could just fall back on the ring. So if a plane started to go down, rather than try to make it work and see what the plane was capable of, and possibly ejecting if it proved necessary, he might be tempted to make a giant fist, punch out of the roof, and then fly back to safety on the ground on the back of an even bigger fist.

But something bad ALWAYS happens... I mean, I can understand the whole not tempting fate thing, but you'd think that if, every time you avoided crossing paths with a black cat you got hit by an ice cream truck, you'd eventually stop being a moron.

I hear Aquaman needs a fan club. Heh....
What's so funny?
[spoiler:6fa0e0c8eb]Aquaman sucks.[/spoiler:6fa0e0c8eb]
Aquaman rules.
Your gimmick of liking Green Lantern while having a nonsensical quote in your sig?
Chill the fuck down.
Like most sensible people, I acknowledge that Aquaman is indeed the shit.
wait
i need to chill down for posting an arrow
but Spex gives you the finger and it's all gravy?
It was a really well drawn finger. Your arrow was so uninspired and cliche, darling.
Boooo, get off the staaaage.
Support charity. Or else.
That about sums it up right there.
