Vista not going to Screensaver when using a Micosoft Mouse

So I just started to notice that my laptop was not going into screensaver mode even after being left alone for a long time. I did some quick research and found out that it is an issue with Microstoft wireless Mice. I confirmed this by unplugging my mouse and waiting for the screensaver to come on. Which it did.

The problem is that while the research I did identified the article, it didn't offer me any solutions. So I was wondering if anyone else had run into the same problem and what if anything can be done to fix it.

To resolve this issue, plug in a wireless receiver, and then check for updates. To do this, visit the following Microsoft Windows Update Web site:
    http://windowsupdate.microsoft.com/
Install the Optional Hardware Update that is named Microsoft HID Non-User Input Data Filter.
