Not quite a year in a lot of places but it's apparently been out in Japan since December 2007.
The in-laws bought myself and my other half Wii Fit for Xmas and I've been having a blast with it, I'm quite in to my exercise and it's a handy tool to monitor my weight etc (Ok I could use scales and a notebook but this is more fun).
I'll probably update this op once I have more time/more information but:
Are people still using their balance boards?
Are there any GOOD games that use the balance board out/coming out?
Shaun White Snowboarding has gotten some decent reviews. Raving Rabbids is the only other one that I can think of. I think there is also a skiing game, though.
I still haven't tried Wii Fit, so I can't be much of a judge for the quality of these games.
Skate It. has Balance Board options. We Ski is also out there, but there's no 2 player option if you're using the board, and it's fairly basic, but it's cute.

My wife and I still use Wii Fit on a regular basis, and I bought it at launch.
It's a fantastic piece of software, in my opinion.
Jillian Michael's Fitness game also uses the balance board - it's ok but has some iffy motion detection sometimes. Other than that, I think they've all been mentioned.
is skate it fun with the balance board? my brother is a tony hawk fiend and i was thinking of getting him a balance board and skate it sometime, but i havent heard anything one way or the other about it.
Doesn't that Tetris Wii-Ware game have a balance board mode?
I'm afraid our Wii-Fit board got EBayed for fat pre-Christmas cash as we realised that the Mrs would rather do 'real' exercise and I'd rather do no exercise at all.

Yes, Tetris Party has a mode that allows you to control the blocks using the balance board.
Raving Rabbids 3 also uses the balance board for butt controlled mini games.

"Real" exercise eh? :winky:
(Cullen's comment below was better than mine)
I picked up Shaun whatshisname Snow boarding and Raving Rabbids TV (I wish they'd just take Rayman's name out of it) to try. I'm really enjoying Wii Fit though, my other half is determined to use it every day and I'm determined to use it frequently to measure my weight.

You really should go on top once in a while, you lazy bastard.
Tetris Party uses it, and every time I've ever heard anecdotes about Shaun White people say it's fun as hell.

I play the Slalom minigame almost exclusively using it, and I'd really like a full featured one.
I know that a ski game was recently released, but it relied heavily on you waving around the wiimote and nunchuck... to go faster downhill... I'm not physics professor, but I thought gravity handled that... so I'll pass on that game.
I hope more ski games will get released with balance board support...

Heard the proposition that RIAA and MPAA should join forces and form "Music And Film Industry Association"?

I tried We Ski briefly at my parents' house over Thanksgiving, and the controls when you've got the balance board hooked up seem designed roughly so you're using the wiimote/nunchuck as your poles*. It made sense to me -- when you're actually skiing, you use your poles like that to help either get some speed going on a hill, or to just get you across flat areas.
The game didn't seem terribly deep, but it was pretty fun to just ski around.
* There is a little excess waggle thrown in there, of course, but mostly it seems like you use them like you would normally use poles.
Holy crap, I just read that one of my favourite Wii games, Koroninouiouooompa is getting a sequel, and it will have balance board support!
But the coolest feature of that game, imo, was that you sometimes had to tilt the controller 45, 90 or even 180 degrees to roll the ball on the walls or ceiling all of a sudden, and you can't replicated that with the balance board unless you're Lionel Ritchie...

Not gonna lie, this thread guilted me into starting Wii Fit again.
Forgot how fun it is
I had stopped because after achieving my goal (x number of push-ups) my reaction was "Oh, I did it." and then I stopped using it. In retrospect, that made very little sense.
On the plus side, (I guess?) I can't do that many anymore so I have something to strive for :P
Skate It has gotten some pretty bad reviews on the Balance Board side of things (and some bad reviews overall). Shame, because I bought Wii Fit on a whim, then let it collect dust but was hopeful that Skate It might use it well.
Instead, I just gave Wii Fit and the Board to a friend who has apparently been looking for it for months.
EDIT: Also, I heard that apparently the next Tony Hawk is coming out with its own Balance Board-like peripheral?

Balance Board in Wii Music is freaking amazing. It's possibly the first game where I really feel like I go there to learn something and it made me realize how I must suck as a drummer. Awesome.

Let's not forget Imagine! Fashion Party. Do your little dance on the balance board.. ya.. the balance board.
Also, "We Ski and Snowboard" is coming out soon.

It's gonna have it's own something. But it'll probably be balance-board-ish.
