The Guiding Principles and New Rules document is now in effect.
Thought about putting this into the H/A area, but it'd probably get more attention here.
I'm in Australia. We usually get reemed. Rock band 2 isn't out here yet, but I do have the option of importing.
Rockband 1's setlist is more interesting to me, but mostly I'm interested in the DLC. I read somewhere that you could buy rock band 2, pay 5 dollars or something, and get all the songs from rock band 1. Can you do this? Can I do it here in PAL land? If so, it'd be better spending the extra to get rockband 2 just for the extra songs.
For 360. I'm just wondering if our LIVE will have that option, and how much it is/does it even exist?
Couldn't tell you about the 360, but I can say that I just fired up my PS3 version of RB and checked New Zealand's PSN store for the export license. Unfortunately, I can't find it.
So while the option is available in the game to export the RB songs, it won't let me since I don't have the license.
DLC is the same for both games, with the 20 free songs being the exception. Usual price is 160 points per download. Some songs can be purchased in packs, which can reduce the price per song, some are temporarily 80 points, and 4 songs are free.
I can imagine waiting for it in Australialand would be worse. I thought you guys had RB2 for the 360 and ps3? We JUST got RB1...in December. For 100 dollars. Game only.
I got my guitar hero WT for 288. But it doesn't fucking work. Hasn't since day 1. I'm 40 days into my 90 day warranty and one of my cymbals is currently being repaired for the 3rd time.

Oh hey. Just remembered.
There's around about 10 songs in the DLC list that are available in the US (and possible the UK?) but not available in Australia/NZ - at least not on the PSN.
These include Still Alive and the Nirvana pack. Can't recall any of the other off the top of my head, but just so you know.

It sounds amazing, but Still Alive is a really, really boring song to play.

Sorry I couldn't be more help.
PS3 games are not region-locked, so go for that version if you have a PS3.
EDIT: And doesn't Australia use the same Live/PSN as the UK? They have the song export option, I believe.
Well, if the game (rock band 2) isn't actually out here, they might not. Dang.
Rockband 1 is about 50 dollars AUS here, and rockband 2 via importing is +100.

I got mine for $250 (I can find them for $210 now) while GHWT is $330.
I'm not impressed
Couldn't you exchange it for a new kit?

exchanged it once, but thought I'd be better off using the warranty the second time.
I was wrong.
They even had the nerve to put a piece of paper in it saying "Don't return to the shop you bought it from, send it off to us for warranty"
Which is absolute bullshit and is completely against Australian consumer rights.
