X-TREME!!!! Nervousness.

I have been having a very, very bad problem as of late. Whenever I need to go out somewhere alone where there are going to be a lot of people, like to go shopping, I get extremely nervous.

My face turns bright red and turns hot, and my hands start shaking and I get tense all over. This is completely uncontrollable. Even when I am not nervous, and consciously know there's nothing to be nervous about, I still am. Trying to calm myself down has absolutely no effect.

This also happens when I need to use concentration and/or a steady hand. Whenever I try to draw, write, play Guitar Hero, or anything similar the same effects begin to happen.

This has been happening for at least 3 months now, possibly up to 6 months. It's becoming a real serious problem for me, and I feel like it is something I can do nothing about and it is starting to keep me from doing the things that I like because I start showing the symptoms.

Has anyone heard of anything like this before? Is there somewhere I can find information and/or help? I already tried searching google but I didn't really find any real information.

Thanks in advance for any and all advice.

Sounds like a generalized anxiety disorder. If you saw a psychiatrist, they'd probably prescribe SSRIs of some sort to treat it. How old are you? Has anything happened in your life recently that would make you higher strung? Are you having trouble apart from the crowd issues, like sleep, appetite, etc?

Do a search on Google/wikipedia for anxiety disorders. Maybe also research depression.

I am by no means a doctor, but what you describe sound exactly like an anxiety attack.

Link to a site that seems to have good info. That is for reference only, I would talk with a doctor if it as serious as you describe though.[/url]

Talk to your doctor about it. If it's just anxiety, they'll do some blood work and talk to you about dietary changes or meditation or something and if that doesn't work they might recommend medication. If they put you on zoloft or paxil it's going to be harder to climax but it takes the edge off things.

Yeah, my ex used to get these on buses and trains. She never took anything for it, I just had to comfort her and find a different means to get us places.

I used to get that, I'd walk back into class after going to wash my hands/go to the bathroom and when i walked in id sort of break out sweating and get really nervous, i also got excema so bad on my hands my fingers would peel. I almost went to the doctor to see about medication i wish i had (I just sort of got over it, i credit my girlfriend with that though...) because those couple of months were hellish. So yeah see a doctor/shrink.
