The loading screens seem screwy on my comp though.
Link for The Swan?
I'm going to second this one. It's very Zelda-esque and fairly well polished. The game revolves largely around its magic system to solve puzzles. Each enemy drops different colors of mana which you use to cast various spells. But the trick is that the spell you can cast is the one you just grabbed.
(Apparently the correct name for the game is The Unfinished Swan, I lost some time trying to find it because of this :P)

Seriously, go check the video. O_o

This game just makes me laugh everytime I can cause another player to crash into something. Good fun.
There was a video of the creator (or one of them) presenting the game in Japan, I can't remember where I saw it though. It does look amazing. However it is pretty much under development with no word of a release yet isn't it? And I don't know where the whole Mac but not PC thing came from, I certainly can't find info saying that.
It is in XNA, and he was thinking about a release as an Xbox Live Community game
I'll try and dwnld Eversion and Gravity Bone tonight, both sound really cool.

Yeah, I played a quick burst of it last night, and I found it a little easier with a gamepad.

I wish it was longer, but being so short it was such a great little trip.
I KISS YOU!
YES Dyson is totally rad! I would describe it as some sort of crazy simplified fast-paced version of Sins of a Solar Empire. There are little planets, and you have ships (called seedlings) and you send them off to attack other planets. It reminds me of Sins in that combat only takes place at the planets, and in the way that you have to slowly progress through the galaxy/universe/whatever. So you send your seedlings off to a planet, they attack and take it over, then you use up some of your seedlings to plant a tree which then creates more seedlings.
It's pretty awesome, and I think it's still a work-in-progress so if they could somehow implement multiplayer it would be the best thing ever.
This game is super rad but my ping is really high. ):
I want to see my precious tree's grow more babies.
More for my army. Mwahahaha.

anyone check out http://tigsource.com/articles/2009/01/10/smokin-guns yet?
Edit: Wow I was super late. Came out at the beginning of the year.
Nethack, it makes the most sense and if you friends aren't mega nerds(i.e post on PA) then they might be afraid of anything D&D relation.
Steam, PSN, XBL, Xfire and everything else JamesDM
If they play and are familiar with Nethack...then fear of D&D is unlikely.
Well if they play and are familiar with Nethack then I think the choice is obvious.

I was just pointing out that Nethack falls much further down the geek spectrum then D&D does.
This all seems a bit silly. I would never recommend a game as a sexy lovechild between a ridiculously old game and a ridiculously hard/nerdy game. Just say it's really good and describe what it's about. It's not as if you're making a life choice.
Well, it'll be more of a case of a small challenge that everyone attempts and then posts evidence of. It was done before with things like levels from Sonic, I believe. It's the kind of thing you can attempt again and again to get better at.
I just want it to be free, and fun.
First challenge: Full spelunky run, no shortcuts used. Go!
i can't do it
Currently playing: GW2 and TSW
