I for one will be buying SR2 even though I already have it for 360 just to do what I can to support mindless fun games
Hm, most places I've checked are showing January 5th or 6th for release, such as Amazon, Best Buy, Walmart, and a few others.
And $40 for the price too, which is nice.

That is really weird. I couldn't find it on Gamestop/EB either. Steam shows a coming-soon type thing but no date from what I can tell.
Well, damn. This happens every now and then, there'll be a title where all the retailers are showing some date of the week, and then when the day comes they change the release date on their sites. But usually it happens with little niche titles like Atlus games, rather than reasonably large releases like Saint's Row 2.
I guess we'll have to see but it really is pretty questionable whether or not it will actually come out this week. Crap.
