LED rope light + batteries?

I have a project in mind that would be made worlds easier if I could use LED rope light. I would need it to be battery powered. I'm sure I could figure it out if I had some rope light, but I've never worked with it before.
(Duh, batteries supply power and power runs rope light, but is there any weird wiring I'd have to worry about)
Edit: Fuck it, I'm gonna work with LEDs from Ebay and just do it myself.
