Ar Tonelico II: Get In the Bath, You Crazy Bitches
Man, I hope in this AR the revytails don't spend the whole game whining at me in their cosmospheres. And if they do I seriously hope I have a "Tell 'em!" option so they can get told.
*Who am I kidding...I know the protag is just going to be another yes man who just sits there and takes everything*
To be fair, Croix was at least a step up from Lyner. Dude was the thickest motherfucker imaginable.
Misha: "You know, that could be used to put someone to sleep so that you could passionately ravish them repeatedly."
Lyner: "Not really following you here."
Hey, whenever the only women you know are a crazy lady with a chainsaw, a twelve-year old girl that turns into a whiny emo bitch when she's older and a 17 year old girl who's just a whiny emo bitch all the goddamnded time you wouldn't think of having sex with them, either.
I think Misha got cause enough to be a bit emotional and pissed off at life over what she's stuck with. Lyner certainly doesn't help matters either though.
It's like they're trying as hard as they can to make their games bomb.
How were the Disgaea 3 JP/US sales, anyway?
It would be more relevant to this game to ask how Atelier Rorona, GUST's first PS3 game did in Japan. I seem to remember reading something about the answer to that question being "better than any of the PS2 Atelier games" and a lot of other things that mentioned it selling out rather quickly so I'd say the PS3 was doing pretty well for them so far. I don't think sales outside of Japan are really something that they regard as a major concern when making these decisions.
Oh of course, I always forget about the true power of Sony systems. Such as the emotion engine which was just too damn strong for even the PS3 to keep. I sure hope AT3 can function without it. We've only got half a PS2 running the game now!

Hey, show some respect.
It looks like a Dreamcast game.
Well, that's certainly a teaser.

Speak for yourself. My PS3 was strong enough to be a badass and keep it's emotions. :P
I can't lie, I will probably buy AT3 for the soundtrack. I really like the music to all the AT games and they're so fucking expensive to buy that it's actually cheaper to just get the game. Fuck you Japan, you cannot make 3 separate $20 soundtracks with 3 songs each for the damn Hymnos songs. You include those on the actual soundtrack you greedy bastards.
YggiDee, I don't think so but these games are my guilty pleasures. Just go in expecting good music, horrible innuendo, and amazingly bad Anime stuff and you'll probably be fine.

Just don't pick Cloche or Luca and the amount of bitching is drastically cut down outside of the main storyline. Those two bitches be crazy anyway. The 3rd Reyvatail is where it's at.
Don't try to collect everything, you literally cannot because of a bug in the localization.
Don't go out of your way for IPAs, you're overpowered enough as it is.
Don't bother with synthesis, you'll spend upwards of an hour at a time just to end up with seven new items that heal less than shit you already have and a couple new weapons that let you do 10 extra damage AT BEST.
Learn to take pleasure in spotting all the spelling and grammatical errors.
These are the ways to get the most out of the game.

Woah, is that true? There's a bug in the localization that prevents 100% completition?

On her third turn, she uses an attack that has a name with a string overflow error. So you have two turns to kill her. It's relatively easy to beat her anyway, but she's like the optional boss in AT1 where you have to beat her multiple times to unlock random shit, each time she gets a little more powerful. These two things combine mean "ha ha, fuck you, US gamers."
And yes, crafting is slow and tedious as fuck. Every now and then you get something better, but for every one good thing, you'll make three or four pieces of junk, and every single thing has at least two scenes associated with it, along with multiple interim scenes where it just makes you sit through characters saying hello to each other or shit like that. It literally took me over an hour each time just to clear out the queues every time it dumped you back into the cities after a major segment.

Producer Kawachi Atsunori explained the reason behind how the heroine costumes start showing more skin when they activate songs, saying that “By showing more skin, they are able to absorb more of the planet’s energy”. There were some small snickers coming from the audience after hearing this, but he continued saying
“The world can only be saved because the heroines took off their clothes!”
AT2 has the same level of plot continuity, really.
Jacqli and all.
Yeah but even then they never go beyond saying "Oh I did something in the past, whatevs." She could've just been a new sarcastic jerk and not much would have changed outside of some references. But this character actually had some plot stuff happen at the end of 2 that they could actually continue and turn into something. They probably won't though. It'll probably just be a really long sidequest to make BBQ Soda a commercial product.

About 30% down from D2's.

...Is this a decision I may come to regret?

Naw...if you love powering up your mages by having them bitch at you for hours on in, you'll love it.
Seriously, though, as much as I bitch about it, I enjoyed it.
Also, MAXIMUM PENETTTRRRATION!

It made the best shit in the first game.

His delivery of that line could not have been any more perfect.
And AT3's music sounds really good, but that's one of the few consistencies.
Le sigh...

edit: Funny, I thought she would have aged ... at least some.

(That is, much cooler than any of the Reyvateils.)
