Trouble opening Coke can...

Ok so i kinda feel silly asking this. I went to the fridge just now, and picked up the last Coke can (my luck) and went to open it. I pulled back the stay-tab (see pictures below) opening mechanism, and it kinda broke. Now i have no idea how i am going to consume its contents. Has this happened to anyone else, and if so, how did you solve this problem?

Cheers fellas.

just use something to punch in the tab and pour it out into a cup

edit: you can probably just use your thumb to push in the part that the tab would put pressure on

Yeah, there's a tear in the seal so it's not too difficult. Carefully apply pressure with your thumb starting where the hole is and open it along the edge.

You're doomed. The tab is broken! You will never consume its delicious contents

Yeah, that tab gives more easily than you think.

However, if you feel iffy about your thumb, a spoon will also work

cheers for the suggestions fellas. The thumb idea didn't work, cos non of the opening actually gave way. the tab actually teared a hole away from the opening , so the actual seal didnt get loosened. No matter though, surprisingly a can opener worked. Thanks fellas.

I doubt he's gonna drink it straight out of the can.

Err, at least I hope he's not.

I have cut my thumb on that shit any number of times. For future reference, I suggest using a butter knife or some other long implement that will keep your fingers safe from harm.

For future reference, a church key would be the simplest way to get that can open (although my first impulse was a screw-driver).

When this has happened to me I just use a butter knife and a hammer. One quick tap and you're done.

This is what I thought he meant when he said "can opener." If he really opened it with a cranked can opener then I am going to have to demand pictures because that's hilarious.

It's ancient rituals are still stubbornly adhered to by some remote worshippers of Carnation condensed milk in isolated areas of Europe.

These are $6 at the grocery store. For a sharp piece of metal.

But if I don't get one then my apple juice will be trapped forever.

Also most crank can openers have a bottle opener eye.

That's a lot of wooden dongs, Orem.

For the record, when this happens to me I just shake it and drink the foam.
