On the 4th of January while I was playing COD World at War my 360 started acting up, black marks started to show up on my screen as I played and wouldn't go away so I turned off the console. When I tried to turn it back on a black screen popped up and a system error showed up. At the bottom of the screen was a code that read E74 and one red ring started to flash on 360. I herd that the one red ring is just as bad as the RROD. I tried unplugging all my wires and letting the console rest thinking it might be because of over heating. Nothing........I would send it in but my warranty expired on the 3rd of January, talk about bad luck, and I really don't wanna pay for the $94 dollar repair fee. Is their any other way I can fix it my self or is it hopeless and something only Microsoft can fix.
Don't accept that answer. Oh two days later, big deal.
If it died under warranty, which this close to the date, who knows when it REALLY died, then you as a customer have a right to get it fixed. Call and get the goddamn thing repaired for free. They can and will do this for you. It's not like the laws of nature prevent it.

WOW! I didn't expect that to work at all. I basically told them that it was unfair that people with the RROD error were getting a 3 year extended warranty and so should I since the cause of the error is no different. I'm guessing by proving my point the guy gave in and forwarded me to his supervisor who was more than willing to help me out with my problem. Thanks again.

I should have done that instead of trying to fix the thing myself. But then I am outside the 3 years. Ah well.
