Boredoms got me, need something to occupy my copious amounts of free time. Can any of you fine ladies and gentlemen reccommend a good 4x? I've played so much MoO2 that I'm pretty sure I've played the same randomly generated universe 3 times now.
I'm told Galactic Civilizations II is pretty much it, if you're into space 4X games.
I've never played it, but after looking into what was available, I was confident enough to buy it (and two expansions) for my brother, who is massively into 4X games.
I found the battle system to be kind of lame, that and the fact that you could only have fleets of a certain size depending on your tech. I thought that it pigeon holed you into a single strategy. As long as im thinking of the right game that is.
p.s. Talkin about Gal Civ.

I'm thinking about trying tribes next but I get .2 second delay from servers in my own country due to my connection
I played when it first came out and I loved it. But then it pretty much died.
Now I can play again and it is so much fun.
Besides, .2 seconds isn't a big deal when you're playing HO and just spamming mortars inside their base.
It is when someone decides to throw a disc in my face.
(what's HO)
Heavy Offense. You play as a juggernaut, take an energy or a shield pack and a mortar, plasma, missile launcher, grenade launcher and a spinfusor into an enemy base and you just rape them over and over and over
I really enjoyed playing MoO2. Was more fun when some friends and I would set up a hot seat game and play all night. But playing solo was also entertaining.

forks
just go buy things man
get like an ipod and one of those small laptops and a usb drink cooler and some new speakers and a remote control car
The chief difference seems to be that Sins is a great multiplayer RTS, GalCiv is a great singleplayer 4X.
I didn't know that was a requirement for it

Notice the Xs.
Which one are you talking about...?
Seriously, I found it downstairs today and brought it up to my room so I could install it on my laptop before I went back to school.
It was like Christmas x 3
Well, that is the meaning of 4x.
I meant the capital Xs.
it is a level of delicious above normal food
My Xterra is a good 4x4 too.
But I really don't want to go to go out and get a burger.
And I don't think we have any ground beef here, so that's out.
Yep, looks like it's nap time for me.
it is still the best
damn right

God I put so much time into tribes 2
Every time I reformat my PC I reinstall it, just for posterity
And to play Construction mod
Which is the best mod of any game ever
Gmod cannot fill that hole
