So I haven't played this game in years and my copy has been snatched by a friend. Where can I find this game in Canada? It's available on Amazon.com but they won't ship to Canada and the .ca version doesn't have the game in stock. I've perused bargain bins to no avail, does anybody know?
Edit: BTW, I realize it's on Gametap but I don't want to continually subscribe just to continue to play one game (you do have to keep subscribing right?).

It actually doesn't even look like it is available on Gametap in Canada - when you apply the "Canada Availability" filter, it disappears from the list
If you lived a little closer to me, I'd offer to loan you my copy, because Planescape is a beautiful game and everyone deserves the chance to play it, but PB is a bit of a drive from where I am. I'd say your best bet is probably eBay at this point - one just sold for $33, and there are a few others up right now.
Crap, thanks for the info guys, though it's not like I haven't played it before so it's not a huge loss. Gametap was going to be my last resort so that's disappointing, I can't understand why such an old game would have regional restrictions on it. I guess I may have to use eBay, though I'm not really comfortable with it, I always hear horror stories about being ripped off (well not horror so much as annoyance).

You're probably not gonna get ripped off buying a used game -- it's just not worth it. The rip-off stories tend to come from the pricey electronics/collectibles sections.
The used game stores like Gamestop around in my area don't carry PC games for some reason. You may have some back luck there.
Obtaining it legally may be problematic, but I got my copy off eBay. Well technically I got it for my birthday, but I told my parents to look for it on eBay.
If you're close to the border maybe there's a place in the states where you can have stuff shipped and pick it up there. Near Vancouver, BC, there's ship happens. Costs 5 bucks so its not too steep. I had a whole exhaust shipped there and picked it up, it was still just 5 bucks.
I got a copy from walmart about 5 years back for $5 or 10...I didn't know the game was that hard to find. :-/
Then again I had the same problem with The Neverhood. I found it for $1 at a thrift store, my stepdad stole it and now I can only find it for ridiculous prices on e-bay.
I checked Barnes and Noble and Hastings :-/ neither seem to offer it.
Is it possible you could go to a gaming store and ask them to order it for you? Perhaps amazon would ship it to them.
Amazon no longer sells the game new at all, it's only available through their Marketplace sellers (which is pretty much eBay with fixed prices). Even if Amazon did sell it, though, the export restrictions wouldn't be waived just because it was being sent to a store. If they say a product can only be shipped within the US, there's no arguing with that.
In this case, it sounds like the OP has found his own solution, which is great. Good luck getting it working, Beren! Also, a tip if you can't: keep an eye on your city's local classified ads (Kijiji gets a lot more use than Craigslist for smaller towns). People often give away their older computers, or sell them for a pittance... and if you're a fan of classic games, it might be well worth having an old Pentium box lying around with Windows 98SE loaded.

Its only amazon marketplace that can't ship some stuff internationally. Strange huh?

locally owned used game stores are your best bet. 'else ebay, or contact the market place sellers at http://www.amazon.com/gp/offer-listing/B00002EPZ2/ref=dp_olp_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1232078837&sr=1-1 and ask if they will ship to Canada, offer to pay a little more for international shipping or whatever

They have a list of exceptions on international shipping for marketplace sellers. Videogames is one of them.
Alternatively, how does Gametap work if I want to suscribe to play that game?
