It's my grandparents 50th coming up in about a month, as one of my gifts I'm making them a mix CD with songs that were either released in 1959, (I'm also making a cd sleeve and making a nice lightscribe disc.) or were around and at least semi popular at that time. Any suggestions on some good music around that time period would be helpful, thanks!
Here's what I got so far -
The Everly Brothers – Dream
Buddy Holly – Heartbeat
The Dave Brubeck Quartet – Take Five
Bobby Darin – Dream Lover
Elvis Presley – I need your love tonight
Platters – Only You
Fats Domino – I want to walk you home
Johnny Cash – Get Rhythm
The Kingston Trio - The Tijuana Jail
My grandpa
loves Buddy Holly, Dave Brubeck, and the Kingston trio, but I'm pretty sure he already is going to own most of their catalog so I don't want to put more of them on there, I'd also try to avoid putting two songs from the same band on there as well. Oh yeah, and no Frank Sinatra.
