Advice on new smart phone

I been researching the market for a new smart phone with several features I want. The problem is I am trying to see if my budget can handle the extra cost. I am debating between iPhone and Blackberry just need to know which one offers what I need at the lowest price.

1
Office:
I know this sounds weird but I have my budget in a spreadsheet I really want to do is take out my spread to input expenses as I make the purchase. I use the Pear Budget spreadsheet for now. Do smart phones have full powered office capabilities(Macros, etc)? I don't mind creating a template I can later transfer. (For those who need a budgeting spreadsheet linky)

2
Able to work with my mac, not sure how Blackberry works with apple but would like to take my address book to the phone and vice-versa. (Does the iphone incorporate my settings automatically?)

3
Smart phone that renders websites as its intended (as close to it)

4
If I go with suggested phones whats the price(monthly fees) to take advantage of the features. At ATT the price of iPhone, since I am in a family plan, I need to pay is an additional 30bucks for the web. Not sure how Blackberry works if its cheaper, the same or something else?

I am already leaning towards to the iPhone but the $30 a month is kinda of buzz killer for me atm. For Blackberry there are to many models out I have no idea what model is the latest and what series is best made for.

I always thought getting iTouch to have those features I want and get a free Blackberry when I renew my contract. Cost is about less since I am not paying iPhone web cost 12x30=$360. iTouch $229-300 + Free Blackberry but this is the condition itouch has office capabilities(downsize is to many gadgets).

Thank you

    1) Windows mobile is the best for handling office. Out of the box, WM6.1 can view, edit, and create excel, word, and onenote files. It can view powerpoint also. The excel is full, as far as I can tell, though I'd imagine it will have graphing limitations and such. I know blackberries can view certain office files, but it's a pay-for application that let's you edit extensively and it still isn't near WM's level. I'm not sure of the iphone's capabilities on this, but I assume they have at least an office viewer.

    2) Blackberry software and mac software do not get along well. For your address book, the iphone/itouch are the better ways to go.

    3) iPhone/iTouch are bar none the best web brower available. The closest thing to that would be a nokia, as they have java and flash support as well and could be arguably better in today's "WEB2.0 :eyeroll:" world.

    4) Blackberry data plan is the same price as iphone's. It is NOT required, though you WILL see additional charges as some of the features of the phone use data that you would not expect.

For blackberries, the bold is the newest and best model available, though it's more expensive than the others. The upside is that it has wifi, which most models of the curve do not. Do not get a pearl. Get an 8320 (the one with wifi) if you get a curve, or get a bold. I would suggest the blackberry bold or curve, or maybe look into the HTC Fuze, as editing documents with a touchscreen is very difficult.

You can't get all you're asking for.

    1. Out of the box, I think the iPhone can open excel spreadsheets, but not edit. Though there are likely 3rd party apps available that can grant you editable spreadsheeting functionality. Windows mobile devices should come with pocket excel that provides functions capability in spreadsheets but not to the extent that the full blown excel app does. I can't see shit for office docs on my BB 8820.

    2. Can't say regarding how good the sync between blackberry and mac, though I think for it to be possible you need to install some Blackberry provided connecting software or 3rd party software. The syncing between iPhone and mac is very good (address book, calendar).

    3. You want the iPhone for this, IMO it's the high-fidelity web browser, but no flash. I hear Opera mini is a good browser but I can't seem to get my Blackberry 8820 to even connect to wifi so I haven't had a chance to try out any internet on my BB (I've a call scheduled with level 2 tech support to get wifi working).

    4. Any data plan (BB, iPhone, or PDA) is going to run you $30/month on an ATT family plan. A BB or WM device you can buy without a data plan but not an iPhone.

If you're married to office and want wifi you might want to look into a windows mobile 6.0/6.1 device.
