I fell in love with Bulgari ties lately, but I'm not made of money. To that end, I've been buying when and where I can find them on sale.
I just got a new one off of eBay. The tie looks right, but the Certificate of Authenticity is just different enough from the other one I have handy. I'm wondering if I have a good fake tie, or a tie with a reproduced cert.
Honestly, the tie is nice so I don't give a damn, but I'm wondering if anyone has any advice on this topic, whether specific to Bulgari or as a general luxury brand resource. I realize that this question usually comes up in the context of GBA carts here, but I'm always amazed by the way this community ends up knowing everything. Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks in advance.

I once read a study on fake luxury goods
Apparently they're so prevalent that Gucci handbags, the most counterfeited item in the world, an estimated 97% of them are counterfeit
Therefore if you're buying anything that's a luxury good that's way, way cheaper than MSRP (50-75% off, for instance) assume it's counterfeit
Odds are you're right
eBay is a haven for counterfeit and bootleg items, and they don't care so long as they get paid.
Yes sir, I knew a few people that sold a lot of fake purses/shirts/wallets etc. on there. No one could ever tell the difference though so who cares? (except for people who really know what they're doing)
Ok, update: its real. Apparently the difference in the certificate was based on it being an older tie that the more recent one that I have. As I said, the tie seemed identical to the other 2 I had, it was just the cert that threw me off. I'm now 2 for 2 on nice stuff off of ebay (This and a Montblanc pen).
Thanks for the help and advice, I'm happy that I have been scared away before getting conned. I did find this on Coach purses, but I still can't find anything on Bulgari. Oh well.

But hey, if the knockoff is so good you can't tell, who really cares?
However, the only way you can be sure what you're buying is real is by buying from a trusted source, namely directly from them.
Louis Vuitton is also very very counterfeit, I have an LV wallet and a couple ties, and I have very little problems telling whats fake.
Fake as hell.
Can trade TF2 items or whatever else you're interested in. PM me.
