Need a little fiddly bit to fix my wifes laptop keyboard
If anyone has/knows someone with an old Dell Inspiron E105 or similar that doesn't work I could use a set of those little tabs that hold up the keys on the keyboard. My wife's E key popped off and the little plastic bits that hold those tabs together seem to have snapped off.
They look very much like the tabs in this, except they are more rounded on the edges, the outer one is a square instead of a U, and the inner one has a single tab in the middle where it connects to the base of the keyboard instead of two little tabs on the outside.
If you could throw a few of those into an envelope I can mail you back a stamp.
And a nice thank you note.
I snapped one of those scissor things before. I looked into eBay for a replacement (don't bother with Dell support, they can't even sell you a single key) but chose to get a new computer instead.
In my defense my Dell laptop was very very old and pretty much sucked. But yea, check eBay.

I'm asking you this because, and you'll thank me later, replacing those is a bitch. Buy a new keyboard for $40 and pop it in and wipe the sweat off your brow. It'll take 2 minutes as opposed to 2 hours without you getting frustrated and throwing the laptop at the wall.

I'll keeping looking for E105, but I've never heard of one of those.
Whoops. Typo'd! It is indeed a 1505.
Yeah, I they were kind of a pain to finagle in, but I managed to do it. They just weren't clipping together right because they were broken. I already ordered a key though, so I'll try putting it in before going all new. Her 'E' works okay for typing, and any gaming she does is mostly mouse heavy now that she doesn't play WoW anymore.
