Welcome to Team Fortress 2What is Team Fortress 2?
Team Fortress 2 is a cooperative online first person shooter featuring tactical gameplay by Valve. It was first released in October of 2007 as part of the Orange Box, and later released in April 2008 on its own. TF2 is the sequel to Team Fortress (now Team Fortress Classic) over ten years in the making.
Steam Community
There are several PA TF2 (and other steam games) groups on Steam Community. If you'd like an invite, post in the thread with your Steam id and sure enough one of our friendly neighborhood members will shoot you one asap.
Xbox 360 and Playstation 3
The Orange Box was also released on these platforms, and you can ask in this thread for a game I suppose because I don't know where the thread for those versions of the game are, but most of us play the game on PC and you should, too.
Meet the Team!
There are nine different classes (rumors abound about a tenth have yet to substantiate) separated into three different role groups. The groupings don't mean much beyond a sort of explanation to players of what they're there for.
Attackers
1. The Scout

The Scout is a speed demon, a flanker, an intel and attention grabber. Never should be used in close quarters except with other scouts. Good at dodging projectiles and frustrating defenses.
2. The Soldier
[vidurl=
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Mq-XaBmRsg8]Meet the Soldier[/vidurl]
The Soldier is one of, what you might call, the heavy hitters. His fancy rocket launcher can do a lot of damage, and if you see one glowing, it'll likely be the last thing you ever see. Till you respawn anyway. Good for breaking up groups and destroying enemy constructs and basically destruction overall.
3. The Pyro
Video not yet released
The Pyro is the ambush extraordinare, with the ability to back up most teams if not with the threat of fire, than with the "leafblowing" action the gun also provides now. One of the three classes with available upgrades currently, the Pyro's backburner is a critting machine from the right position. Great for terrorizing groups, finding spies, and slowing down scouts.
Defense
4. Demoman
[vidurl=
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rxps--huGKY]Meet the Demoman[/vidurl]
The Demoman is a Black, Scottish cyclops. He's also an explosives expert. Stickies are great for guading intels and control points, or surprising unsuspecting travelers along their way. Pipes are good for...well, there's stickies.
5. Heavy
[vidurl=
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mY5qJHZCz2I]Meet the Heavy[/vidurl]
The Heavy is a big bad Russian with a big bad gun. Sasha is a beast, especially up close. But Heavy is slow and susceptible to Sniper fire. Heavy is good for clearing points, offensively or defensively, and best used with a medic in tow. Another one of the classes that have upgraded weapons, most notable among those is the Sandvich, which allows the Heavy to heal by himself.
6. Engineer
[vidurl=
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i68cEsALWt0]Meet the Engineer[/vidurl]
The Engineer is a nifty little class that's most noted for the ability to create sentry guns, a standalone turret that fires whenever it sees an enemy. But engys can also build dispensers and teleporters. The ability to restock allies and move them to the front lines can not be understated. A good one can keep the tide from turning on you.

7. Medic
Video not yet released
The Medic is a healing machine. His medigun saves lives, and also makes superstars when he wants. The Medic is key if you want to push forward at any point in a map. The ubercharge ability has been known to end rounds rather quickly when used effectively. The medic was the first class to have upgraded weapons, and his kritzkrieg while sometimes less useful in battle is still devastating when used properly against the other team.
8. Sniper
[vidurl=
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PyNuriXG3BQ]Meet the Sniper[/vidurl]
The Sniper is a one shot mastermind. A good sniper will totally stall a push with the push of a button (or pull of a trigger). Not great in close combat, but when you can find a good perch, you can normally keep the enemy team at bay. But be forewarned, you'll have a target on your back real quick.
9. Spy
Video not yet released
The Spy is very sneaky. The Spy has the ability to cloak himself in invisibility in order to get behind enemy lines and then strike them when they least expect it. Spies are also handy for disabling and helping destroy enemy engineer buildings thanks to their sappers. And of course there's always the butterfly knife, which is difficult to master at best.
How to Play with Us
This is a list of the various servers PA has to offer for TF2. There's literally something for every kind of player: competitive, casual, and complainer.
Job's
server

Donate
Job's is normally the most populated server. Job is a cool guy who likes to throw in things that make the game easier and more fun (such as map voting, a few good custom maps, and a solid rotation). Job if you post the current rotation or PM it to me I can put it in here.
jonxp's
server
tf2.finalmeasure.com

Jon's server might be called "bland" by some. I prefer the word "traditional." Jon doesn't have any (or many) hacks installed on his server, and prefers to stick to the officially released maps for his rotation. The second most popular server of PA. Jon PM or post your current rotation plz.
PMAvers's
server (custom maps)

pack for custom maps

Mavers server, affectionaly known as the House of Non-Conformity (or HONC!) is a custom map paradise. Most of the best custom maps ever made are housed here. There's a custom map pack link you can download before hand (as downloading from the server can suck sometimes) and as long as someone gives me the latest link I'll put it here, along with the current rotation. Mavers is always looking for suggestions for maps to add, as well.
The Tiniest Court
Service of the Queen's Server
IP: 69.147.239.15:27015
Service of the Queen is PA's unofficial Highlander clan. Highlander play is broken down into groups of 9 on each team, with one player of each class on each team (i.e. There can be only one). They play in scrims and stuff. If you're serious about TF2 and want to join SotQ, contact
Quaz & Wally or
Green Power Ranger.
The password for all of these servers is
"wang" without the quotes.

His unlockable will be a wall-jump-enabling hoodie.
Not an amazing feat, but I thought it was nice.
Oh, and I was on B on Gravelpit and the Sniper was over by the rocks.

If you're actually fighting a soldier you shouldn't jump at all, they'll just hit you when you come down. Just juke back and forth in front of them, time it so you double back right as they're about to fire. More often than not Soldiers will waste all 4 rockets without scratching you.
