I went down to the SPCA today and got a 10 week old kitten who was found wandering in the snow (-10 celcius) . His "found" name was Roger but my g/f and me don't really like the name and it doesn't seem to quite fit.
He's mostly white but has a tabby head and tail and a cool patch of tabby on his left shoulder. It really looks like someone got a photoshop brush with "tabby designs" and went at his head and tail and clicked on his left shoulder.
His personality so far is very loving, explored the whole house in the first 20 minutes and he really likes to have your attention.
edit: I forgot to say we like famous names (historical stuff not celebrities). It also needs to be somewhat easy to say (we tossed around "Chairman Meow") but it's a mouthful
When I was a little kid, I always pretended I was the hero,' Skip said.
'Fuck yeah, me too. What little kid ever pretended to be part of the lynch-mob?'
Something along the lines of "Grandma" would be pretty funny, especially if its a cat that you let outside.
"Grandma! get out of the garden!" or "Grandma! Stop eating the plants!" and the list can go on and on. I have two cats myself and i always thought it would be quite funny. Your neighbours would look at you kind of weird, but thats part of the fun

Kebechet, even though it's a girl's name.
Rama - Hero God, Preserver of Families, Destroyer of Evil
Fubuki
Beowulf - for his tabby helmet, or maybe just "Norse," since he's obviously born from the cold

I don't know why, Poe is always a good cat name. One that I see a lot but really works well for all black cats or all white cats or general variants.
....I change my vote from Poe to Lincoln.
Do... Re... Mi... So... Fa.... Do... Re.... Do...
Forget it...
yeah he's pretty unique, I was sunk as soon as I saw him.
It's really going to be up to the g/f as she was not there to pick him so she gets to pick the name.
Appreciate all the replies!
Also he doesn't look like a Roger.
And totally not a Roger.
I like Kodiak.
the "no true scotch man" fallacy.
Birdo. That one's historical.
It makes me think of cold, and ice cream... and cold ice cream.
How about Socrates or some other philosopher. Virgil. Poe is a good name too i think.
For some reason, I like "Scratch Lincoln" as a name.
All I can think of for a name.
Is Alcaeus
Just to mess with people.
My sister calls her cat "Puppy".

Instead of a pet bed, get him a comfy box.
On a more serious note, Churchill. Or perhaps Parker.
His Grace, The Duke of Ankh, Commander Sir Samuel Vimes
Vimes for short.
