Vista laptop to xbox 360 ics issues

My friend brings his 360 over regularly, I had a connection set up through my laptop so he could get on Live due to the proximity of the router. Last time we did that was two weeks ago and now he's here and we're not able to get ICS to work anymore, Windows Vista 64 bit Home Premium, the issue is that the wired card connects to an unidentified network and has local access only. Any suggestions?
