On a scale of 1-10 (with 1 being no problem, and 10 being impossible unless you're a professional) can someone tell me how hard it is to change a headlight bulb (i should have most of the tools)?

It's a light in a 2001 Altima if that helps.

It should be somewhere around a two or three. Unless you have to remove the whole headlight assembly, then it's closer to a six.

If it's just a bulb, usually they just turn and release from the back, then you swap out the bulb and put it back in.

It's about a 2... maybe. Sometimes it's really annoying to get the covers and whatnot off, but you should be able to do it.

You may want to change both bulbs at once. You may find that the new one is either a significantly different color or significantly brighter.

Yeah, usually pretty easy as long as you don't have massive freak hands.

Get both bulbs at once, and just do it where there's a lot of light - garage, etc. A flashlight and a helper can be useful too.

Only thing that makes it difficult is if it's shitty weather outside and your hands start to get cold.

In addition to the "one bulb brighter/different colour" justification, just think of it this way - one bulb went out. The other one's probably close. Why have one headlight twice as often as you need to?

It's also really helpful to have the manual that tells you how to do it instead of bumbling around with no idea.

    I would say a 1.

    Use the manual.

Keep and maintain any clips or plugs you remove to put back.

Make sure you get the right bulb.

Top off your tail-light fluid too.

Dude, they didn't start using HIDs until 02, he doesn't need blinker fluid. What kinda scam are you running? o_O
