I'm not sure what my first step should be in this process...
I usually have a ride from a friend/family after arriving in the airport (which isn't possible this time), so I'm slightly in the dark about all of this. A taxi seems to be the most obvious option, but I fear a large fare by the end of the trip.

Google Maps says it's over 130 miles from PHL to Berwick, so a taxi would be horrendously expensive. Because of the size of the town, I would guess that shuttle and bus services to PHL are not available.
Have you considered flying into Wilkes-Barre/Scranton airport (AVP)? It's about 90 miles closer, and maybe you could get a ride from there? All the major US domestic carriers fly there as well.

This page seems to have more options: http://www.phl.org/ground_transportation.html .
Yeah, a 130 mile trip would be outside any flat rate a cab would offer. Is renting a car an option? Otherwise looks like there's a Greyhound stop in Berwick.

It will be far more expensive, possibly twice the airfare. She's definitely better off renting a car.
Renting a car is slightly an option, but more a last resort, as when I get into Berwick, I will have transportation there.
So, Greyhound sounds like the best option. A few people have mentioned this. What website is everyone looking at to see that there is even a station in Berwick? Because, as Quid mentioned, the bus schedule and mine would have to match. Also, do I have to reserve/buy a ticket before arriving in PHL?
Thanks for everyone's contribution so far

That's the list of stations in Pennsylvania. The main page lets you pick the days you want to travel.
