My house is a 1957 Ranch, block construction. My girlfriend and I are fastidious about trying to keep the era from 57 to 60s with mid century modern and atomic ranch furnishings. She offered to buy me this chair a year ago, I wasn't sold until I sat in one, now I curse that day because I guess she found a nice one with ottoman for $700 at a local store. I are stupid.
Between Eames and Heywood Wakefield, you will be spending quite a bit of money in furnishings alone if you happen to get the itch as we do (as if I needed another hobby outside of vintage cars).
Because this has been a sickness for me, like trying to source a dual quad intake for my 1965 401 Nailhead engine which I am putting in my 1929 Model A roadster, here is the beginning of the end for anyone who found the "Incredibles" home exciting.
The only homes we have in Az like that are the Allied and Haver homes(mostly prefab), and of course for the really rich, F.L. Wright. I am a transplant from Madison, Wi. My grandparents had a tri level house out near Spring Green, I believe to have been a F.L. Wright home, but could have been anyone using googie-esque (it had one complete wall done up with local stone and glass) architecture in the rolling galacial hills of that area.
When buying designer furniture, be aware that the market is flooded with repros. Some are of okay quality, and some suck ass. Like, seriously bad. I've seen a repro of a Le Corbusier sofa that makes me want to cry. So I'd avoid buying repros online.
Yeah, for sure. I know Copenhagen sells a repro of the Eames for $1200. We have a couple of antique stores out here that focus specifically on selling originals in both unrestored and restored conditions.

They go for big bucks, ~$1000 or more with the ottoman. I've seen them in White, Black, and Walnut.
