I have Vista 64 bit, and I wanted to find out which audio codecs I have are bad and if I need to remove them. I was trying to play the Fear 2 demo but I got some sound acceleration error, so I think it has to do with the codecs. So does anyone know how I go about doing this sort of thing?
Well, you could looks in your "Programs and Features" to see if you have any codec packs installed.
Also, in XP you could go into Control Panel -> Sounds and audio devices -> Hardware tab -> Audio Codecs -> Properties and remove any audio codecs there. However, it has been removed from Vista.
Since my work machine is on Vista x64 I'll have a look myself.
