Hey guys. How can I get a better sound bank for my computer so that all the midi songs I work on sound decent?

    Um, generally you buy them.

    What do you work with?
Reason comes with a solid soundbank.
Same with most composition tools (like Sibelius).

If you want General MIDI to sound better, that's all your soundcard driver. The thing is, the MIDI songs you work on will still sound like shite on anyone else's computer. You could also run midi out to a dedicated sound module.

You just need better VST plugins or virtual devices/samplers like Reason.
