Ok so I get to work Friday at 7am and find a sticky note attached to my monitor which reads, "Don't panic your account has been locked. ST." I, of course, start freaking out, wondering what I did.
Did my boss see that I spent the past few days doing nothing but reading PA comics and forums. Did he see that I spent a better part of the past few months doing work for my other place of employment while here. There were so many thoughts racing through my mind. Oh god I'm gonna get fired.
Finally, he called me into his office. I knew I was in deep shit because there was another girl sitting in there as a witness. I closed the door and sat down. He starts going on about how I violated his trust and abused my admin privledges. All the while I'm still wondering what the fuck I did. he goes on to tell me that I am no longer allowed to take my breaks in my office or use my cell phone in my office. And now I'm thinking holy fuck did he find out about my plan to murder the Jews. Just when it feels like my heart is gonna pop outta my chest, he says you're account has been disabled because you installed 2 unauthorized programs on your computer. 1. Stellarium (a constellation program which has been on my PC for 4 months now) and AIM (which I just installed the day before just to see if it could be done). I was shocked. He was acting like I killed baby Jesus or something. So I was documented and am being forced to purge medical records in a dimly lit storage room. Which to me is inappropriate and unprofessional. if the money and benefits weren't so good I would have told him to eat a dick. So here I am spending another wasted day in this storage room. He thinks I'm working, but hey, why would I do that when I have the internet on my phone.
So, what're some of the worst things you've ever done at work and been caught or not caught doing?

I'll never be that hard up for money. There is nothing wrong with me browsing the forums at work. When I'm working on computers and waiting for programs to install, I need to have something to do or I would go insane. As far as installing programs' I thought it was ok because he told another girl in the office that she could install an IM program on her computer and I'm the SysAdmin for christ's sake.
Maybe you should have checked with him first.

lol...I get all my work done quickly and end up having a good 6 hours of nothing to do. I have actually gone to my supe and asked for more work but there isn't any because I am good at what I do.
I have google chrome installed and I use gtalk through gmail all the time. I don't know what I was thinking, my friend asked me to install aim and I guess it didn't click that I would get in trouble. I still don't feel like I should be doing work that they pay people who make $8 an hour to do. Oh well, I'll sit back here throwing files away for $22 an hour while admin work goes undone.
He's apparently not a very important sys admin if they locked his account out.
