Nezekan was the server I made that on. I didn't do anything with Zikos yet, maybe someone else will? The private channel thing has worked pretty well so far I think, added quite a few people through it.

Check the Sorcelator's section in the forum. I urge the Witchaloks to do the same...even if it means I make an Asmodian and take charge of the Legion myself. I don't really wanna do that, since it is much more effective for 2 men to have control over 2 Legions, instead of a single man over multiple ones.
May I remind everyone once again, to go to ^that^ location to get the names of people to message to join.
And I do not know how to make a channel myself, so one does not currently exist.

So, why not have both guilds on the same server at launch? It seems like a waste to have Sorcelators and Witchaloks who never come into conflict with each other.
Because it would have the immediate effect of permanently and inescapably separating the currently small community of PAA Aion players. Since 1 account cannot have a character of Elyos and Asmodian origin on the same server, it would truly split our player base in half. That is not an option at this point.
So my solution is to declare a Server for each race so that people can experience playing as BOTH the Elyos and the Asmodians with their friends from the PAA. Leave no man behind.
And besides. I'm far more interested in goading the players from either CAD or PvP into being our mortal foes.

It's going to split your player base no matter what. Of the 3 PA WoW guilds at launch, I am pretty sure only one is still around. The others evaporated and merged.
I like what some people did for Warhammer. They all guilded up uniformly on one faction in the beta, with the forethought that they would all guild up on the opposite side for the actual release, that way they could taste both factions without monotony.

Yeah, I know people will want to play a certain faction. But in the long run it'd probably be best if we all just agreed on a server / race and went for it. Gives us the best odds.

I've had fun so far with the beta, but I don't think I'll purchase it.
- Well polished in many areas, but the korean mmo shows up in other areas.
- We give you flight, but for the most part you'll be in areas where all you can do glide.
- No real interest in endgame pvp for me.
I'm only level 17, but the only Korean-ness I've seen so far are the tendency for the game to give you higher and higher-level quests before you're the right level to attempt them, so you might have to grind out a level before you can get to them.
After being used to WoW, not being able to run back to your corpse is kind of a pain too, although it's not terribly bothersome.

And yet all of the members of the CTS Dojo have made alts on a specific server, but no one else in the Alliance has done any characters on that server. When it is highly likely that those same other guilds have done the same thing. Because of the lack of planning for a Horde portion of the game for the PAA, their Horde alts are all floundering without the combined community of the entire PAA. I really do feel, that for the sake of a long term unified gaming group, that starting on both sides of the line is for the best. Because then none of the people who prefer one race over the other is forced to play it as an Alt with a smaller community.
I know, it hasn't been done before. But it's still worth a shot. After all, I don't want to be in a Legion with two active members in it when I go to play as an Asmodian. It would kill the game for me.

Especially if we are getting CAD as our arch nemesis somehow, that seems like a community that would love to play anime chicks with claws and lots of fur.
We should all just play Eylos because come on we don't need to be on the goth baby cutter side.

Actually I don't really care. I'm not even sure I'll play come launch. But at least the Eylos don't have that horrible rock music every time they go into battle.

thats Awsome NC and also this can't be considerd a bad launch sinces itsopen beta, if the same thing happens when they actualy release the game for purchase to the general public and no one can play and the game is instable you can then call it a failure, thou AO will still be the bench mark with wich failure shall be measured.
I dunno if this is serious or not, but there are ALWAYS these problems the first day of a beta or the first day of launch. Login servers getting overloaded, lag, people getting booted... it happens with every single MMO.
The only thing i've never seen before is the accounts getting banned. Aside from that it sounds pretty normal to me. Wait until these problems persist for the duration before you start giving up completely.
I'm sure you've already contacted them about the banning right? It's almost assuredly a hiccup with the OB overflowing.
And yes, it's pretty ridiculous to judge a game by it's first day. Everyone and their mother trying to log in at once is not an easy thing to handle. Once people have had their initial fill and the mass logins slow down things tend to smooth out. Or maybe they jsut keep crashing lol. There are a pretty ridiculous amoutn of people in the starting zones though. I can't even find quest mobs to kill when I try every damn channel.
Edit: also it's hilarious how half the servers are "high" pop and half are "low" pop in the server listing. It seems everybody wanted to play on the same servers.
Especially when its not even the game - its a beta. The game was much improved on Monday night and fine yesterday. IMO it wasn't any different than a big patch day for WoW - and this is a game in beta.
As for the high/low - keep in mind these are the same servers from the CB. Some were around a long time like Ispharel and Siel - so those high servers are where people played in the past and have friends. The low servers are all newer - some of which never existed until the last CB.
I actually like current Vanguard quite a bit, it's just too empty, so it's not making enough money, so it's not getting the upkeep it deserves. That's been the problem with every MMO. Any MMO that saw the success of WoW could probably improve itself to be a great game. The problem is that you have like two months to lock in a subscriber base, or you're not going to get the capital to reinvest into improving the game/expanding.
And of course its empty because of the complete and total debacle of a launch it had.
One of the big advantages Aion has for us in North America and Europe is the game isn't "new." It's been played, tested, polished and ready for consumption before the closed betas even started.
It will immediately have a leg up because unlike Vanguard, Age of Conan and Warhammer, the game is actually ready to launch.
Thank god for the Koreans i guess. Cause its bloody polished from what i've seen of it so far. And it doesnt seem any more of a grindfest then most other MMO's that i've tried. I really dont want to play it much more though, as the character wipe will happen soon.

Something is going on with the character creation with the servers. I logged onto a server where I already had an Asmodian and was told I couldn't create an Asmodian on this server but it let me go into the character selection screen where I could select my Asmodian.

So far my biggest gripe with Aion is how the mouse controls. I'm happy they added the camera control with the left mouse finally, but in a "step forward, two steps back" fashion they screwed up moving with the mouse. If you have the left mouse camera turn on, you can no longer move well by holding down both mouse clicks (I tend to do this a lot, just a habit I got into with WoW). Sure you move forward, but moving side to side just rotates the camera rather than the player.
Also, I'm probably going to have to switch around my vent settings to just voice activation. I usually do push to talk with ctrl, but if I hit ctrl while holding down right click to move around my camera/toon, I lose my mouse cursor and have to click again on the screen to get it back. All in all though, these are really just nit-picky things that they'll hopefully address in due time. Overall, I'm really enjoying Aion (waaaaay move than I did WAR, and I had such high hopes for it!). I'm rolling Asmodian on Nezekan right now with a Legion a friend dragged me into, but I'll jump into the PA channel. I'll be spending most of the OBT going alt happy trying out some of the classes I haven't seen yet.
A question for ONLY those who played the CBT. As in, not people who are familiar secondhand with the Korean version, etc. Have you guys noticed any changes 1-25ish since the 1.5 patch? I'm talking instances, general game flow, quest amount/variety, etc.?
I just lost the ability to have my router downstairs anymore. I have to get a wireless card. So I'm DEFINITELY out for this last beta. If you have any recommendations for a solid desktop wireless card feel free to PM me.

I never found any instances 1-25, but I've noticed a few more quests at around level 10 (I've only managed to get to 12 so far). The flow of the game is pretty much the same. I wouldn't expect a whole lot to change in the lower levels of the game. In short, it is probably 95% the same (as far as the things you mentioned).
I had Linksys Wireless PCI card that was pretty solid. I had to take it out once I got my sound card though and I switched to the USB wireless adapter. Performance is just as good really.
A lot of the 1.5 additions to the game were for level 30+ content. Dungeons, more quests, etc etc for that remaining grind to 50. I don't think you really start finding serious dungeon till somewhere around 25 or 30 too. The Fire Temple or something like that is one of the first big ones starting at 30.

For me it's just things like this. Also, in every single MMO I've ever played except WoW, the character animations always feel floaty. It definately stands out when your character does a battle animation and their feet slide all over the ground. Strafing and walking on lots of terrain seems unnatural. This is probably something that can be addressed with time and polish. WoWs environments and character interactions, especially regarding terrain, always seemed surreal (not talking about clipping) but in every other MMO from AoC to WAR to LOTR to Aoin, character animations are always jaunting and feel disconnected from the terrain mesh.
I wish there was a more clear way to explain what I'm talking about.
Edit: I thought of an exception. CoH (which I haven't played in years) as far as I can remember had really good character/terrain interaction.
Edit 2: Also, after I chose to track an NPC on the map, I could not find a way to make the pink X mark go away aside from tracking a different NPC. And when accepting a quest, it would auto-track my objective, but then after a couple quests, it's stopped doing so. I like the locator feature, but it should just populate the map w/ objectives you are tracking.

I know exactly what you mean (though I'm not sure how it relates to what you quoted -- though that double mouse button thing bugs me too). Though I will say that Aion is better in this regard than a lot of other MMOs I've played (Vanguard, Warhammer, AoC). The animation isn't WoW-quality but it's not (usually) totally immersion-breaking either.

I'm limed that quote bc I totally agreed with it in conjunction with what I posted.
One of my biggest gripes with MMOs and even console games like, lets say, Infinite Undiscovery, is running along a mountain pass and getting stuck on a blade of grass. AoC was horrendous for this as well. I would agree that Aion is not as terrible an offender for such things, but it still lacks that final coat of polish.
Oh, I also had that character creation problem. I join Zikel with a hope of joining some PA folks, and even though it was the first time I ever played the game, I could not create an Elyos, since I magically had an Asmodian on the server already (which I didn't, of course)
So I just created an Asmodian. Maybe they are screwing with it on purpose to balance the population during beta? If not then it is terribly broken.
So apparently there's this quick little quest in the Mordheim town that teleports you to the Elyos area. I went there and jumped some guy as he was grinding. Almost killed him too, but I'm just a cleric so he ran away before I could
That quest is an opportunity for a group to go in and cause some mayhem - if they all do it at the same time.
The skeletal animation in Aion is actually pretty good in some places - I had my character standing next to a knee high ledge, and it had one foot on ground level, while the other foot was planted on the ledge with the leg bent at the knee. Looked really natural. Must be something that came with the Cryengine they've used.

Quests seem a little better, they've added a few here and there that I didn't notice before. Helps with the leveling quite a bit, no more "doh, 1/2 a level before I can hit the next quest area" sort of thing.
Oh, and they nerfed the crap out of some of the teen quests, that had you facing 3-dot elites. They're now 2-dot elites with 4-dot stats. In other words, they die easy, but still pack a punch.

That quest is an opportunity for a group to go in and cause some mayhem - if they all do it at the same time.
(Just as I was about to uninstall the client too...)
