Gametep being sketchy about details

I haven't subscribed to Gametap yet, but the myriad of games that I'd have to shell out $10-ish for anyway on it makes it seem like a good deal. However, I've run into a snag of sorts. What actually happens to my downloaded games when I stop my subscription? Am I good as long as I download it, or does it suddenly disappear until I renew? Nothing in the terms and conditions (yes I read the whole thing, and damn does it repeat itself) mentioned what happens, and there was nothing on the forums either. I figured they don't want to just give you all the games they payed good money for in exchange for one month's subscription, but I literally saw nothing on the subject. Can someone enlighten me?

You have to be online when playing the games.

30 seconds of poking around google concludes that once your subscription runs out so does access to your games.

You download the games to your PC, but they are encrypted, and you can't* unencrypt them without being connected to the Internet and having the Gametap player running.

If you cancel your subscription, you'll simply have many gigabytes of junk on your hard drive.

*Of course, I'm sure just about anything is possible on the Internet these days, but you know what I mean.

Edit: Also, since the files on your PC are encrypted, you can't apply any 3rd-party mods to Gametap games. Which is too bad for things like the Baldur's Gate Trilogy, which have a whole lot of great mods available.
