Easy fix. If a unit is knocked down once it receives a -50% chance to get knocked down for the next 15 seconds. If it's knocked down again, it gets an additional -50% chance (-75% now) and it re-starts the timer. Next knockdown puts it to -87.5% and, again, resets the timer.
This way we can still have the fun of knockdown without it being abusive.
