Is anyone here gonna go to the NY Comic Con?

Tycho and Gabe will be there and so will I.

I was thinking about going to the show but I was not really sure if the presence of G&T was enough to
justify my attendance. After reading through the panels scheduled for Saturday (2/7/09), I have decided
that there are enough awesome things occurring to warrant the drive to New York.

I have been unable to convince any of my local buddies to go to the show with me, so I would like to
know if I can count on seeing some of you fine fellows there.




I am planning on attending only on Saturday so that I don't need to get a hotel room.
Here are the panels that struck my fancy:

I went today. Saw Gabe and Tycho, shook their hands, talked about hand sanitizer and PAX, then got a double team sketch with Gabe drawing a sketch and Tycho writing a big word above the picture.

edit: I was actually a bit intimidated to talk to G and T, since I had the same issue Tycho had with Felicia Day. I didn't have anything really to say to him. Although they look bigger in real life, and Gabe is less stringy and gangly than he claims to be. Dude's got tattoos.

Khoo and Fehlauer were there too, but I didn't even bother trying to muster up the courage to talk to Khoo.

I presented Mike and Jerry with the following items:

2 x family sized boxes of Reese's Peanut Butter Puffs cereal
An unopened package of disposable bowls
An unopened package of plastic spoons
A box of 24 hand picked Godvia chocolates (Mike does not like Dark Chocolate or nuts.)
A box of Zingers (There is a time known as "Zinger time" in Mike's house.)

Mike was impressed at the level of effort I went through to ensure that his chocolates were to his
liking. That made me smile.

Before I left their booth I told them I would see them at their panel if I was lucky (the panel was
beginning in like 20 minutes). I went down and got in line and then everyone in line (over 100 people)
was told that the room was completely full (including standing room) and that we should move along.
I waited for Mike to come down the escaltor and told him that I had a feeling the room was too small
for the demand and that I would see him at PAX.

I wanted to ask Mike for a sketch for a friend of mine later that day, but whenever I had time to swing
by the booth (after their panel and then after 6:30PM) they were not at their booth. (Sorry Shannon.)

When I swung by the booth late on Saturday I had a short conversation with Khoo. When I told him I
was a forum member he asked me what my name was, and when I told him, he said he knew who I
was! Weeeeeeee! That is joy right there.

Gotta luv that Khoo!

I would have done that if I had a way to get them to him hot and ready to eat or if he had somewhere
to keep the uncooked patties refrigerated.

I don't want the food to go to waste.
