Freezing Bananas

I like frozen bananas. I would like to make them myself.

Is there a science behind this, or do I just stick em in the freezer?

Just stick them in the freezer. I prefer to peel them and put them in a plastic bag first. I don't think it's a lot of fun to peel them after they are frozen. But either way is probably fine.

They are like banana flavored ice cream. I ate frozen banana's a lot as a kid. Peel, slice, ziplock, freezer.

May have to try this... I love frozen grapes. How long do they hold?

If they get freezer burn they turn brown and mushy. I would say a week or two tops.

If you want it cut or with a stick in it or anything, do it before freezing. Frozen bananas are very hard.

Cut up frozen bananas make for *excellent* smoothie bases!

I peel them and freeze them in a ziplock bag. When I have fresh fruit, yogurt, and orange juice, I cut the bananas up coarsely and add them to my mix. Then I use a stick mixer on 'em ... Sooo good! Add spirulina for extra healthiness :)

I chop them up, freeze them, then throw em in a blender with yogurt, milk and strawberries for a cheap & tasty breakfast on the go.
