Doctor Who- 3rd season (new, 10th doctor) questions

Doctor Who is already further than this and I know that, but if people haven't watched up to the new third season yet I advise not reading this.
This is about the characters Martha and Adeola. I know that they are played by the same person and the series tries to explain the resemblance by saying that they are cousins, but aren't they part of two different worlds? Adeola was in the parallel world where Rose's father was still alive, and Martha is in the regular world. Shouldn't they technically not about know each other at all? I mean, Adeola could still be Martha's cousin in the real world and the other Adeola could be someone completely different, but it seems weird that they would have the same job, be affected in the same way by the Cybermen, and be connected the exact same way. Just a coincidence, maybe?
Could someone help me out with this? Any thoughts would be appreciated. Thanks!

It's not meant to be closely examined, really.

They liked the actress and brought her back, then spent 5 seconds coming up with a semi-plausible explanation (winkwink) as to why the characters looked similar.

I'm pretty sure Adeola is not from the parallel universe. I just reviewed the episodes in question. What they are doing is brining the cybermen from the parallel universe to the regular one.

They are in the regular universe. It might have been confusing because those episodes dealt with both universes a lot.

Yea, they were both in the same universe, it was just a Dr. Whoish way of trying to resolve this exact question. "They looked (ie: were) the same? Oh, must be cousins!"

Just like that chick who is on torchwood now but played a clairvoyant girl from the 1800s.

"are you from an old cardiff family?" "Multispacial genetic duplicity!" (or some such whooism)
