i really like thin metal frames on glasses for most people. my first pair of glasses that i had years ago looked kinda like those thick black plastic frames though, i liked them then
i hate the little pad things that wire-glasses have. i wore them when i first got glasses. ugh.
that's my primary reason for wanting plastic frames, so that the frame itself can rest on my giant nose, god knows there is enough room on it
see i hated how hard the plastic nose bit was on my plastic glasses, it left the hugest dents in my nose after i took them off. i liked how the plastic ones gently rested at the right angle softly.
i did love being able to easy use the plastic ones as a headband when i needed too though. i only need glasses to see things far away, and even then my eyes aren't too bad, so i like to be able to just push them up onto my head when i needed to focus on something close

Then I was going blind
Then the optometrist discovered that I wasn't going permanently blind, just that I had progressive deterioration of the corneas
So now I wear contacts at night and my vision is somewhere close to 20/.25

also, for a while, i sported those flip down clip on sunglass lenses on my glasses ala dwayne wayne 8-)
