The First Game You Ever Finished (Without Assistance)
Usual disclaimer: I checked for threads like this and saw none. If I missed it, feel free to point me in the right direction, call me a retard and lock this.
I want to hear about your first experience finishing a game without your brother/sister/mom/dad/animal companion helping you along the way.
Mine was Space Quest III: The Pirates of Pestulon. I saw my mom and dad play the King's Quest games when I was a kid and wanted to try a game like it, so I grabbed this at Babbage's and begged for it. I was 7 or 8 years old and insisted I not receive any help. It took about 2 or 3 weeks, but man, it was so satisfying when I got all the way through it. I must have found every single way to die in that game on the way to the end.
Needless to say, I binged on every adventure game I could find (and still do). If a new one came out, it was pretty much a required purchase via my chore money.
